What Cowboys have been arrested in the past 12 years?People never get over it. Try Bengals...lol
I would have thought the officer would have said something like "Where the hell do you think you are going?" Pitts would reply "Oh, you meant for me to stay there and get a ticket? Sorry. I misunderstood. I'll take the ticket now."
Must have been a little more to it at least in the officer's mind. I am thinking Chester looked over his shoulder and saw something big trying to run over him and thought "There's that darn Ron Dayne again. Guess I better pull over and get out of the way."
Chester Pitts: "Don't taze me bro......"![]()

This is too weird to be just as it is stated in the paper--I think there is more to it--but that is just my spider sense talking and nothing else.
Chester has always come across as a bright guy. A half a mile is a 3 min run for some...that's not a high speed chase.Chester is a friend of mine, he's a good upstanding guy. His Dad is a detective back in Cali. He's mindful and respectful of law enforcement. He's also mindful of his reputation in the community. I guarantee you, and I haven't talked to him yet this morning, that he misunderstood the situation and thought he was clear to leave and strolled off. Supposedly he pulled back over a half mile later which if he was trying to get away he wouldn't have stopped that quick. By the time the cops got back in their cars and ran him back down a half mile or so isn't a "chase". Chester is a very intelligent guy and I in no way see that he would have done anything intentional to defy law enforcement. He's not STUPID like some above posters have said,,,I bet when it comes out it was all a big misunderstanding,,,

Ok, so tell me again why you chose the username "False Start # 69"?
Just wondering.
Just heard his(CP) comment on 790 and he sounded really upset. I think it was a huge misunderstanding.
"I want to start by apologizing to my family first," Pitts said today. "My teammates, my organization, Mr. McNair, and, honestly, I'd like to apologize to the officers. It was clearly a misunderstanding. I would never disrespect the law. My father has been a police officer for 30 years. I have the utmost respect for law enforcement. It was a huge, huge misunderstanding. I'm sorry."

Hey, I didn't hear it. What did he say?
McClain's current blog post asks readers to say whether Pitts should be suspended for the game, even before his side of the story is told. Sigh.
We got your back, Chester!![]()

The Walrus has spoken....or rather grunted in that grunting sound that walruses make.
I think his next blog should ask readers whether McClain should be covering the Texans or not. He'd probably be scared of the results, though, and end up moving to Tennessee.
Houston Texans offensive lineman, Chester Pitts appeared before a grand jury on Thursday.
He was arrested in November on charges of evading arrest.
Police say Pitts kept driving for eight blocks after they tried to pull him over for making an illegal left turn.
Pitts later apologized to the officers and his team.
He said it was all a misunderstanding.
Though it's been said that a grand jury will indict a ham sandwich, it is likely that if he comes across the way he did during the interviews with the media, and if the dashboard cam stuff isn't ugly, that the grand jury will vote not to indict if they have one lick of sense.
Given even the police department's account of events, combined with what Pitts said, a prosecutor would have a hard time saying that Pitts intended to flee arrest. "Intent" is key, and most of the circumstantial information would make it hard for a prosecutor to prove intent beyond a reasonable doubt.
Yeah but how much faith can you put in a bunch of people not smart enough to get out of jury duty?![]()

Steph is dead on about the Grand Jury v. jurors called for duty... But more importantly, you insulted me as I went to jury duty yesterday out at Judge Bill Yoemans annex (Clay at Highway 6)![]()
He's a hoot isn't he ? Yoeman can Clear out a couple of Hundred people before lunch time.
And...make you laugh befor you poney up the money.
I never get picked for juries. Speak up in voir dire or it's your own fault. Don't lie just speak the truth. I tell them I'm a conervative and that prety much does it.
The people on a grand jury in Harris County are generally people who volunteered for that duty. Civic minded folks. Generally, smarter than the population in general, and traditionally very conservative.
I have the highest regard for people that serve on any jury, because we need to encourage good people to serve on juries. As much as there is crazy stuff in the paper, juries get it right more often than the goof up in spectacular fashion.
My comment was not to insult it was a line from a movie and I was making a joke. I have served on a jury about some property damage crap.
And yes I do have respect for the people who do grand jury and regular jury.
I guess I should have not made the joke.
610 am just said the grand jury no billed Chester Pitts.

I have jury duty Jan 23rd, have served on several juries in the past, and will serve this time if selected. Do I want to do this? No, not really. BUT, I don't feel I have a right to complain about things I don't like about our justice system if I don't willingly do my part when called. I just go, take a good book to read, and keep my fingers crossed that if I am called, it will be on some case that will keep me from falling asleep in the jury box.![]()

Judge Yoeman is great. I have never seen a judge take the time to actually address each and everyone that showed up for jury duty. And yes, he also has such a great sense of humor - whether you pay up or not.... Nothing but respect for him.
Nice. It's a good thing when the thing that is supposed to happen happens.
colossal waste of time charging Pitts for a FELONY in such a trivial matter. They don't care about wasting our time and money though....we just let em abuse it.610 am just said the grand jury no billed Chester Pitts.
