Phillip Rivers to the 49ers?

I think there is also talk of re-working Anotonio Gates' contract. That might take a small chunk out.

I Think it is a fair trade if the 49'ers pick in the Charger's 12 spot. Rivers Reminds me alot of Carr both had side arm like releases both shot from the hip and both were very good passers.

Now I think he should be ranked higher than Rodgers and Smith. Considering Rivers has Smiths Size and Rodgers arm strength, and would fill the immediate need for SF with less growing pains. and then SF can concentrate on the rest of their team.

Carr has a sidearm release?

I think it is a good pick. The 9ers are in a situation where they can't afford to pay higher first round money this year, they get a promising QB with a fairly decent one already on roster. Chargers wont really miss a beat. I think they still have Flutie so it is not like their back up would suck and they get the premiere receiver they need to go along with Mcardell.
