[PFT] Texans try out QBs and WRs

Teams (not just the Texans) regualrly try out players on Tuesdays, the names and position do not always get out, but this is par for the course work acros the entire NFL. Sometimes it is for immediate reasons like when we needed DEs, but often just to have direct knowledge of players if another injury or need emerges during the season.

WR has nothing to with trading, since Walter and Anderson are the only guys truly healthy. The Texans may need a body sooner than later.

I believe that this is all it is. I would add that knowing who's available in advance could allow us to know what kind of move we could make if a trade scenario came up (I can only hope we are that tedious as an organization).

Ex. If Detroit came to us and said, "hey Stafford is not going to be back for another two weeks and Shaun Hill needs a backup. You got a pretty good one listed as a 3rd stringer. You know damn well we aren't talking about Orlovsky so stop insisting. Seriously...quit it. We wan't Matt Leinart. Would you stop saying Dan? We are asking seriously for Leinart. How does a 4th rounder sound?
We complete the deal and then get on the phone to put one of the QBs we tried out on the roster.

I doubt that if there was a trade it would be for a CB. Kubiak has stated over and over that we are going to live with what we got. Besides why try to shore up a weakness, that makes too much sense.

I'll take a stab at it:

Jacoby Jones and Matt Leinart to the Redskins for Albert Haynesworth and Andre Carter.

now this is the type of moves u take a stab at when your defense is dead last and u want to prove to your swaying fanbase that u are committed to win and for them to hang in there

low risk high reward trades.......the texans have no risk in this.......if albert plays good great.......if not cut him with low cap number..........no harm no foul............for the guy who said we wouldnt wanna pay haynesworth......hes been paid already....handsomely....we wouldnt have much of a financial responsibility to him....redskins did it for us

and for those who say albert half plays.....albert haynesworth at 50% is light years better than what we have now in Cody and okam........i will take fat albert at 50% than any scrap heap DT we are running out there right now............period

plus his issue is he wants to play 4-3....not 3-4.....so thats half the battle right there....but anyone who can say with a straight face that a line with smith, haynesworth, okoye/mitchell, mario doesnt make u smile and scare the bejesus outta opposing quarterbacks is plain crazy....who do u double on a line like that?????????

This is the kind of trade where one shoud ask why again should Redskins do this?
