Peek tore ACL?

on the main page it says peek tore his ACL after a 66 yard INT touchdown. i thought he injuried his shoulder not his ACL? if anyone knows what this is all about please post cause i was really hopin to see peek playing and not anderson.....

I think your memeory is correct, but all indications are that Peek will be ready for training camp and the regular season.

As for wanting Peek over Anderson, you probably have seen more of Peek, but he is just as unproven as Anderson as a starting NFL OLB.

Texans | Anderson Making a Good Impression - from www.KFFL.com

Carter Toole, of HoustonTexans.com, reports Houston Texans LB Charlie Anderson is seeing significant time at practice and the coaching staff is taking notice. He's been filling in for injured LB Antwan Peek (knee) who has been limited in practice due to his recovery from a torn ACL. "Charlie's doing well," defensive coordinator Vic Fangio said Friday, June 3. "He has definitely progressed from last year. He's feeling more comfortable in the system and in executing his assignments. His technique is better and he's moving faster." Anderson played at about 238 pounds as a rookie, but he has bulked up to about 246. Anderson's reps might decrease as Peek works his way back into the fold, but that doesn't diminish the experience Anderson is getting now.

I thought it was his shoulder as well, maybe I am wrong.

Every injury report at the time said shoulder. It's probably an oversight. Let's hope, at least. I sent Carter an email to clarify.

If he really did tear an ACL in late December, he wouldn't be "limited" in practice in May. He'd be "out" until at least September.

wow....we never seem to catch a break haha i hope he comes baack as strong as he left off. and dont get me wrong i do like charlie but peek has an explosivness to ihm that i like alot and hope to see in coming years.

C'mon guys, don't do me like that ... Still wipin coffee off of my flat panel from when I saw the thread title. Thought it mighta happened in these coaching sessions yesterday or this morning. Shades of BJoppru all over again. Then I realized we were talkin last season vs Jax. Now Imma slide my copy of the Halloween spankin we put on'em to make me feel better.

the Texans have known this for some time & still resisted drafting David Pollack maybe some of the reason they where able to justify trading down with N.O. three spots both Pollack & Johnson still on the board. personally I would have prefeered to see Pollack in a Texans uniform but following New Englands example (other than Babin) they like to develop linebackers. sounds like Charlie Anderson is coming along & could in fact become the starter. Peek will assume a similar role to last year and Kenneth Pettway will follow in Andersons footsteps :twocents:

Again I saw that late at night also and was as surprised as many of you. You know there have been several situations where the Texans have not been that forthright about what's going on. If we were in the season, I believe they would have a problem with the NFL on misinformation on an injured player.

Lol i almost fell out of my chair when i saw this thread. I think my heart skipped a beat too. had me worried for a min until i realized they were talking about last season.

I think there is a little more than confusion here, because unfortunately I did not keep a copy of the original article on the Texan's Web sit, but I believe that article has been changed. Why do I say that, because here is the lead comment from the main page of the Texan's Web Site.

"The Texans are keeping Antwan Peek out of team drills during coaching sessions as he continues to rehab his knee. And that's enabled Charlie Anderson to gain some valuable experience with the first-team defense."

Therefore, don't blame Texan's Posters for having a heart attack over Peek's unexplained ACL INJURY.

Now is it or isn't it a SHOULDER INJURY?

It's a shoulder injury. Nobody is blaming the posters. I'm saying that the people responsible for the article on the website were confused.

I believe the body of the article originally said ACL, as well. I think the Texans need to clear this up. They have created some questions.

The ACL reference was an oops.

Peek injured his shoulder in the December Jax game and they are being cautious with him, as they should. No need to push it in May/June coaching sessions. He will be fine come training camp.

i know peek injured his shoulder last year on the fumble recovery touchdown, but hasn't he in fact had a knee injury before as well as an ankle injury. maybe he hurt that knee last year, but really wasn't mentioned after the shoulder injury. with that thought, i think the LB competition this year will be the competition to watch. i'm still trying to figure out 1.how many LBs that make the roster and 2. after the 4 projected starters, who makes the team?

maybe he hurt that knee last year, but really wasn't mentioned after the shoulder injury

The knee was in '03.

The only other problem he had last year, besides the shoulder, was the ankle that kept him out of the GB game.

He's limited in coaching sessions because of his shoulder. The mention of ACL and knee in the article was an oops.

I just hope that Peek can go injury free all year, cause if he or Babin goes down, we dont have any real quality backups at OLB. CC said that Charley Anderson is progressing nicely, but that is in TC and not in gametime situations. So, everyone make sure u add Peek to ur prayer lists!

yeah i thought it was his shoulder as well, but from how they are talking he will be ready to go by pre-season, and havent i been seeing him in some of the practice photos on the site main page ???

He has been there practicing/walking through, he just has been limited. Its precautionary to hold him out because there is no need for him to accidentally strain the shoulder now. Coaching sessions are just as valuable watching as they are doing because there isnt really any contact anyway.
