I dont like either one of'm but I like the Raiders less .... :texflag:

That's an answer I can get behind, plus I have a lot frinds in bean town and they are all Pats fans, so as long as we aren't playing them or competing for a playoff spot with them, I will give them a nod.

I can't forget the obnoxious Pats fans invading the MB in 2003. In this game I'll hope the Raiders take them down a notch or 2.

I'm going with the Patriots on this one. Not out of any sense of loyalty (because I could care less about either team), but because I like seeing a dynasty in this day and age when dynasties were supposed to be a "thing of the past" according to experts.

Plus, winning 4 Superbowls in 5 years takes them a notch higher than the Cowboys. :D

ps. Randy Moss is a reason to root against a team, too. ;)

I'm predicting a upset with the Raiders offensive line establishing the running game & LaMont Jordan. With emphasis on New England's coaching losses (Romeo Crennel & Charlie Weis) the chain of continuity will be broken just enough for the Silver & Black to come out on top by a Sebastian Janikowski FG.

I want the Raiders to win just to be able to have something to talk about. I want the Patriots to win because I like seeing a modern day dynasty and have Brady on my fantasy team. Either way I win/lose but im going for the Raiders...

You ***** Brady, throw it perfectly to "Ben Watson" then overshoot wide open Daniel Graham. That isn't helping me in FF at all.

I took Watson over Graham in my kffl dynasty league. Word was he would be the primary pass catching TE in NE....word up :yahoo:

Yea, I just dumped some garbage and picked up Watson for the future. I should have researched some of the auto-picks a little better before the season started. Surprised he was still a FA.

Raider's D still can't stop anything. They will have to shootout to win games much like the Colts did last year, and lets face it their not the Colts offense by any means.

Michaels needs to go back to elementary school and learn addition. "So instead of a 3 yard play, it's a 19 yard play" No Al, 3+15=18.

Once again an attempt of humor fails miserably due to type. DAMN yoy type, and your lack of emotion, damn you. :D

Is it me or does it look like Collins is trying to force it to Moss. He throws to him every other pass play and Moss only had 5 catches. It's kinda like Carr over emphasizing Johnson when he could get others involved.

I am sure glad Brady is ony an average QB. Only 202 yards and 2 TDs in the 1st half.

I know, huh?

I love it when people start spouting that stuff off now. "Brady's average, Brady's a system QB, blah-blah-blah"... envy is one of the most obvious emotions, and usually leads to a very transparent animosity!

Overall it was a pretty good game. Plenty for Belichik and the boys to work on, especially seeing as how they had two kicks blocked. If they were playing a better team last night it would have been much, much closer.

How about Oakland though... in 45 years, they've led the league in penalties 14 times. That's almost 1/3 of the time, for the math phobic. They killed themselves last night with the flags... it could have been much closer.

I'm pretty much looking like a genius (or the other guys in my league are looking like *****s) by getting Brady in the 8th round (11th QB taken overall).

Had Moss going in my other league. I expect to roll in both.

Nice clamp down by NE. They game plan so well at half time.

Moss and Kerry h ad a great first half. Nice 73 yard TD.

Dieon Branch showed why he was the SB MvP.

Brady looked great.

Has anyone noticed that the Patriots always take linemen, like they know they can get quality skill players later in the draft?

last 5 years.
Seymour
Warren
Watson
Mankins
Graham

Detroit last 5 drafts.

Williams
Williams
Rogers
Harrington
Jones

Just an FYI

You've heard it 100 times probably... "the games are won in the trenches." Perfect example last night. It won't do the Raiders any good to have Randy Moss if the O-line doesn't give him time to run his route and Collins time to throw. If I was building an NFL team from scratch, the first thing I'd do would be to establish a strong D-line. The Patriots front three (Seymour, Wilfork, and Warren, all first round picks and all younger than 26) allows the LBs and secondary to do just about anything because they can still get pressure without having to blitz. That opens up a lot of options and possibilities for any defense.

Brady worked the left side of the field over and over again. I felt bad for Grant Irons and the rookie corner because it was always tossed under their coverage.

Watson is going to be a stud this year, hands down.

Of course the 1st time they go out and draft a trench guy in the 1st 3/4's of the fans want them thrown out.

I seriously doubt it as long as they keep winning and bringing home :trophy:

They are picking on Routt. Pbuc probably looks good to them now.

Routt got picked on, but he didn't show very good instincts back there at CB. He hardly ever tried to look back to locate the ball. He got called for one big pass interference penalty, and he could've gotten called for at least one more early on in the game. Plus he had the personal foul penalty too that cost them. He'll get picked on quite a bit this season.

Everyone knew the Raiders defense would take the back seat to their offense coming into the season, but it looks as though they need to address some needs on defense. Their OLBs are too big, and will have trouble covering RBs or TEs. Gibson got abused last night by Watson, and they could use a young S that can cover (I do like Schwiegert though). On the plus side they did look pretty good against the run.

They have a scary offensive unit, NE just is that good. And be carful next week, Oakland v Kansas City, you may get whip lash.

Brady and Branch got me lots of points for my FF league! THANKS PATS!! I plan to kick some guys butts this year with my team! :)

I have a feeling this will be Brady's best year, statistically speaking. For one thing, he's looking to prove that he can win without Charlie Weis. He also 28 and entering his 6th season, which is right around the time that QBs typically come into their own. I'd look for a 4,000 yard season and at least 30 TDs...
