Arguements include that the defense has to stay back becuase of the threat of Bush (personally, I don't think NFL defenses give a rip about a highly touted rookie) and that Bush is a decent pass blocker.
Truth is however.....teams haven't had to play many guys in the box to limit the Texans from moving the ball. One....they get sacks on Carr with only 3 or 4 guys rushing the QB, which is downright sad. I do see teams however cover the pass more than they do the run. Andre Johnson is completely covered...as are the other receivers. Teams aren't scared of Dominick Davis and that's why I think he gets as many yards as he does. If teams actually played 7 guys in the box, covering the run, Davis wouldn't get the yards he gets.
What would happen in fact is that opposing defenses would HAVE TO play at least 7 guys in the box because of the threat Bush would be. This would relieve some of the coverage up top on Houston's receivers, allowing the passing game to bloom. They would have to acknowledge Bush and this let Carr gun it to Johnson. Once Carr starts nailing those DBs through the air....they'd have to respect the passing game....take guys outside of the box to cover the pass....this would thus relieve down under, allowing Bush to put on a show.
Right now....opposing Ds aren't scared of Davis. They cover the pass more-so than the run. That's why we couldn't get very much through the air this year....that's why Carr would hold on to the ball so much, hoping for one of his guys to get open somehow, running back to him, as they should, but haven't been coached to do.

This is why Carr also gets sacked....trying to find an open WR, aside from defenders rushing in on him in a heart beat with that swiss cheese passing O-line, poor excuse of protection. Teams these past years have gotten to Carr with just their 3 or 4 linemen, respectively however. If they tighten the line up.......Bush & Davis will open up the passing game or vice-versa, the passing game will open up the run game. They go hand in hand.
