Packers Choose McCarthy

The Packers will select Mike McCarthy as their new Head Coach. They are currently in contract negotiations. Weird that we didn't even interview him. I thought Jim Bates was the pick in Green Bay. I can't say I am all that familiar with this guy:

From looking at his history as an OC, I don't see where he had a winning season. Might be missing it. Doesn't look like a very good pick to me at this point.

I was thinking the same thing. He doesn't seem to be all that successful. You'd think if anything they'd get one of the really hot coordinators up for HC positions. Green Bay is a high profile team.

I think i saw somewhere that he has ties to Favre. If thats the reason he got hired shame on GB.

Well Brett is THE man there. I thought I read where he had decided to retire. Maybe they hired this guy so he'd be more likely to return.
