One good thing will come out of this year

Well we have one good thing to look forward to after this year. His name is Matt Leinart. Since we for sure will have the first pick we can get this guy and maybe he can get the ball to some recievers. I have never seen a qb such as david carr so bad that the number 1 reciever doesnt touch the ball once in a game. O well Leinart knows how to get the ball to players so we should see improvment next year.

Matt Leinart may be a great QB but what makes you think he'll have success here in Houston?

Maybe getting the combo package of Matt Leinart and Pete Carroll would be the only good thing to come out of this season.
:texflag:

Because Leinart will get hammered with much more style than Carr. If the Texans waste a high draft pick on a QB, when they've proven they can't protect him, I will not be a happy fan.

:thumbdown

If we draft Leinart, we are shooting ourselves in the foot. His stock is SKY FRIGGIN HIGH right now that we could trade down for multiple first round picks. With those and the rest of the draft we can

1) Beef the O line (at least 2 picks)
2) Draft a no. 2 receiver
3) Draft a tight end
4) Spend the rest on quality linebackers

Seriously, I want like 10 rookies to make the team next year.

The rest of the team, not qb should be our initial priorities.

Yep, maybe like a Giants and Eli Manning situation, a 1st and 2nd this year and a first next year. Thats how id go about it.

Draft Lienhart, trade him to a team that needs a QB. Get extra draft picks, and find a way to bring in some offensive linemen free agents if there will be any good ones.

the only team that has two #1 picks this year are the Denver Broncos, besides their own they have a #1 from Washington (pre-draft 2005 trade). both teams are doing pretty well so they would be mid to late at best picks.

if the Texans have the 1st pick the Broncos would knock our door down to draft Reggie Bush. to me they would have to throw in another #1 the following year as well to make it worth passing on such a talent. But it would fill alot of holes in the line, but then the Texans would have to live with passing on the NFL's first 3,000 yard all purpose back :brickwall

The LAST thing the Broncs would do is go first round on a RB. They turn late day 2 guys into pro bowlers, they sure as hell don't need a guy with natural talent in that scheme.

they do have an excellent eye for rb talent if anyone would see this (about Bush) Denver would thats why 3,000 yards is not out of the question in that scheme. I really don't know what Casserly/Capers would do I've never figured them out and porbably never will

Andre was in the game for awhile before he tweeked his calf again. So dont be smart and say its hard to get the bal;l to him when hes on the sideline. You need to get off Carr and releize that he is what is bringin this offense down. Yes the line sucks but Carr makes no attempt to avoid sacks.

Real simple proposition here--AJ tweaked his leg on the 1st route he ran--he was effectively not in the game at all yesterday.

ummm yeah. i personally hold andre responsible for our loss yesterday. being injured does not equal production...take a midol and get back in there kid....

I believe that the Bus has been out since preseason and missed all regular season games so far because of a similar calf injury. I don't want AJ to come back until he is 101%, its just going to be a long, long season........... :texans:

You don't need to trade for two 1st round picks this year. As stated earlier, trade for a 1st this year and a 1st for next year.

If Eli Manning is worth that (and it helps that he's making it look like he was worth that trade), then I would imagine the Texans could get a similar deal for Leinart.

But it'd be a really stupid, stupid move to draft Leinart in hopes that he'll be the future QB of this franchise.

I assume this is post beer breakdown?

Matt Leinart is slower that David Carr and far less elusive, instead of giving up 7 sacks a game we could make that a good 11.

If Texans draft leinhart I'd vote for substituting them with the STATE HIGH SCHOOL championship team and let them be the pro team.

What is it with ya'll obsession with bringing in ANOTHER QB when you still have NO line?

No Line, No WR's, No TE's, No Defense, No coaching, At best AVG special teams. Hmmm lets draft another QB so he can get smacked up and down the field every sunday.
