This is the time of year when underperforming coaches lose their jobs, with most deservedly so. But the person employed by the NFL who most deserves to lose their job is the Senior Vice President of officiating Al Riveron. After multiple blown calls and sorry excuses from the NFL through out the entire season, and especially week 17, Riveron and his subordinates have done an especially pathetic job of interpreting and enforcing the rules of the game.
When 95% of a TV audience can clearly see a PI or targeting hit - in real time - and the officials don't call it, or even review it, you are failing at your job. Even worse are the phantom calls for tripping, roughing the passer and (my favorite) unnecessary roughness because a legal tackle was too hard.
I give Riveron a grade of "F" for his performance in the 2019 NFL season. That is unacceptable for any multi billion $ business.
Your losing me NFL.
