This is the time of year when underperforming coaches lose their jobs, with most deservedly so. But the person employed by the NFL who most deserves to lose their job is the Senior Vice President of officiating Al Riveron. After multiple blown calls and sorry excuses from the NFL through out the entire season, and especially week 17, Riveron and his subordinates have done an especially pathetic job of interpreting and enforcing the rules of the game.
When 95% of a TV audience can clearly see a PI or targeting hit - in real time - and the officials don't call it, or even review it, you are failing at your job. Even worse are the phantom calls for tripping, roughing the passer and (my favorite) unnecessary roughness because a legal tackle was too hard.

I give Riveron a grade of "F" for his performance in the 2019 NFL season. That is unacceptable for any multi billion $ business.

Your losing me NFL.

The NON call on McCarron yesterday was pathetic. The side judge was standing right there, looking right at him. If I was OB in that situation I would have gone Hulk type mad. Ran on the field, thrown my play sheet, my headset, everything. Gone Billy Martin crazy about that non call. Get tossed from the game, who cares, it was a meaningless game anyway. No reason, ABSOLUTLEY no reason for that penalty to not be called.

The PI calls are just Riveron and the refs stickin it to the NFL for implementing the review in the first place.

It was the right thing but the wrong time for O'Brien to go nutz, but if the same thing happens this Saturday to his franchise QB in the P/O game vs the Bills I would expect O'brien to become totally unhinged.
And bad calls or the absence of a call which should have been made for the second straight year was an injustice to an NFC P/O team, first the Saints last season and just the other night to the Seahawks.

It's clear to me they made a decision to answer for the n.o. call to pacify unrest. Then immediately did an about face.

They made a rule they wont enforce and it's wasted countless challenges/time outs impacting the outcome of games.

Disaster.

And that non PI call in the Seahawks game screwed the Saints out of a home playoff game.
I hear what you’re sayin, wouldn’t have meant much for OB to go nuts then but I agree if it happens Saturday he should go absolutely bat **** crazy

Do these pi challenges have more weight in the playoffs?
