Official Texans Excuse Thread...

Practice Squad
First one I've seen so far:

1. Our first two games are against Super Bowl calibur teams. What do you expect?

In the immortal words of Jeremy Grey: Rule #76: No excuses. Play like a champion!

Not having a secondary that can defend Marvin Harrison, Reggie Wayne, Brandon Stockley.

That and careless turnovers.

Offense is clicking though.

How about this one......Its only the 2nd game of the 1st year of our new head coach who has to undo 4 years of horrible coaching and waisted draft picks. Patience.... The hard reality of it is we have to crawl before we can walk..AAAAAALLLLLLLLLL over again.

Clicking like a horse with bad hooves. Can't walk, can't run, and just bites at the farrier.

The goal of this thread is to come up with a list of potential excuses for every position on our football team's poor play. I'll start, you guys fill in the rest:

1. Carr would be an awesome QB if he had a decent OL

can we just cut the other 10 ideas that could be linked to #1 and just say "our team would win if we had a decent OL"?

Well, I would last longer if....oh. Uh....we'd get more sacks if the opposing QB wasn't so good. :ok:

We would do better if the bagheads would stay at home and give their tickets to someone who would help the fans blow the roof off Reliant!!

The offensive linemen would play well, but we need their poor performance as an excuse for losing games.

"Offense is clicking though."

Ok, but Kubiak says 'clicking' for 1 qtr per game is not good enough--geez, go figure--what does he expect? We're brand new--give us a few years!!

We have a bad O-line, secondary, rushing attack, run defense, and pass-rush, but other than that we are okay.

Fan excuses and the team's excuses are mutually exclusive of one another. Fans measure production via game to game. Coaches measure play to play seven days a week.

Ridiculous fan excuse #1 - the coaches don't know what they are doing.

Coach excuse #1 - our fans don't know what they are saying, but hey, they are fans and they are supposed to be fanantic.

It was Mario's first time to play DE the whole game.

Mario would've had 3 sacks if he had his blankie and teddy bear last night. He was tired.

No excuses. This team lost 3 games last year by a total of seven points. They lost to Jacksonville (on the road) and to St. Louis by a touchdown. Since then, the defense has shifted to a much better scheme, the TEs and WRs have been upgraded, Carr is showing flashes of improvement, and a new line scheme has been set in place. Frankly, IMO, any loss is inexcusable, especially to an NFC team. The Texans have talent and coaching ability out the wazoo - if they can just get over themselves, they would win.

We're still better than the Redskins and the Dolphins, so by week 4 we'll be 2-2.

LOL at any flake that thinks the Texans are better than any team who happens to have the same record.
