Yeah but there's only one way to ice the game for sure, and that's by converting the 4th and 1.

That's on Miller though...his vision is just terrible and he doesn't run hard at all. Can't wait for blue to get back
I understand, but to me, it is on O'Brien. Considering that Miller has bad vision and doesn't run hard, would YOU have called that play on third and one? Probably not because you can see that Miller isn't a "smash it up the middle with 9 defenders in the box" kind of a guy. Why can't O'brien see that? That's on Miller though...his vision is just terrible and he doesn't run hard at all. Can't wait for blue to get back
why wasn't Foreman in that last series?
Players are not taking a stand against our military or the country as a whole. There is injustice in this country and they are taking a stand against the cops who are unfairly abusing the rights of African Americans while our leaders turn a blind eye. Bad police are never convicted or they get a slap on the wrist. You and Donald Trump and anyone else condemning the protest have not seen your rights abused by officers in this country. Not only is there injustice in singling out African Americans and minorities in general, there has been killings and beatings that never should have happened.
When police start fairly policing all Americans than there will be no need to stand against injustice. An injustice against one American is an injustice against all. The fact is that the protest started by Colin Kaepernick has grown and it has led to people discussing the matter. If it can change things for the better all around than it is a discussion I am glad we are having.
Many of these athletes protesting do a lot of good in their communities and they have the right to take stands against injustice just as all Americans do.
I hardly see the act of sitting during the Anthem as being that big of a distraction. It is a short period of time and the focus goes back to football and any other sport being played.
I can't let this game go... we should've won it
So how does that reconcile with your perception of the talent on this team?
No more than it does with the talent of coaching..
You have a 240 pound 240+ Doak Walker award winner and you keep handling the damn ball off who has clearly shown he's not a ******* inside runner...WHY!? Why the hell did we do that!?

Agreed... but did you even expect the Texans to be in position to close out the game with under 3 minutes left, based on the comparative talent?

How many times since Miller got here has he been sent up the middle and been stuffed? There is a trend there, and if O'brien can't see that, he needs to open his damn eyes and watch some film.
Watson can easily change it to a pass play since Miller is a better receiver and pass protector than Foreman.
I'm with you and I think short yardage stuff should be handled by Foreman or Blue (when he's back).
But trying to make sense of it all, I'm guessing it's because we want every play to have options. I mean, isn't this exactly what we were complaining about Kubiak? QB had zero options at the LOS? Having Foreman in the backfield pretty much shows our hand. We're going to try to run this up the middle. But by having a more versatile guy like Miller in the backfield, we at least have options at the LOS. Watson can easily change it to a pass play since Miller is a better receiver and pass protector than Foreman. Or he can even change it to a run play outside the tackles.
Once again, I would have preferred Foreman in on that play. Just taking a guess on why BOB stuck with Miller there.
It's also not like Miller was having a horrible game. He had a higher YPC than Foreman today.

To be honest.. no I didn't at all (I expected a beat down), but since we were, it only pisses me off more and adds to my potential Cirrhosis of my liver (I'll drink many of beers tonight..trust me).. we should've won that game and the disparity in coaching was glaring. We should've won that game and I'm done with running Lamar Miller up the damn middle...he ******* sucks at that. Why our damn coach can't see that who the hell knows? Excuse me while I have another beer, because this one truly hurt. Why the hell did we even draft Foreman if we're not going to ******* use him?
Yes, I think Miller (right now) is the more versatile back. I mean if we're gonna go by just today, then Miller was actually running the ball better than Foreman. But I think Foreman is a better pure runner than Miller.Wait... who was the more versatile RB today? Who made the big passing plays?

Re-watching the 4th quarter. Key play at 12:22, 3rd & 3. Watson overthrows Anderson in the end zone. Watson has to make that throw, Anderson was open.
But my question deals with the flag thrown. Refs said there was no defensive holding on the RB due to the timing of the pass. See the picture below. #89 grabbed Miller as he was trying to release, while Watson still had the ball. In fact, he may even be looking right at Miller at this moment. Should the defensive holding been called? I'm not sure because they are still behind the LOS, but I don't believe that matters? If that was called, would have resulted in 1st & goal.

He could have possibly gotten it or he might not have.........they would have stacked the box for sure.
they shoud still have flagged the holding, and we would have declined the flag.If Watson completes this pass we're on here celebrating and even more pumped about his potential.
Wow so many opportunities squandered away.

Horrible NE-style call... as usual...
The Texans have a secondary? I saw guys stand flatfooted as the pats WR's ran free on 3rd downs, or our secondary always held their jersey's if they were close. Good plays. Our defensive backs were getting beat for big plays all day today... but you want to focus solely on why Foreman wasn't the guy running the ball on 3rd & 1? If Foreman was having a monster game and couldn't be stopped, then I would understand. But he wasn't having anything close to a good game himself.
One more time for the book...I hated the way the officials ignored Watson's efforts in trying to call that final timeout. The officials allowed anywhere from 6-8 seconds to elapse before giving the timeout...that's possibly 2 plays with a timeout in play.
.
BOB probably saw his secondary getting abused all game and tried to go with the safer optionDefinitely wrong, when you have as many stars on the defense like we do nothing wrong with telling them to close it.
Moore should have ended it.

Pisses me off how awful the secondary was. And how the game could have been iced if Corey Moore just held on. And everything else.
It's so exhausting.
On the post game show on 790, Sean Jones said that Anderson slowed down and that's why he looked over thrown.
I didn't notice it on that play but I haven't rewatched.
I don't think it was ever about the military in the first place. It is all about police injustice. The military wasn't mentioned onceYou do realize it's not about disrespect to military anymore? NBA and MLB involved as well now
It was reported that 6-8 extra seconds could have been left on the clock, had the clock been stopped when Watson was first seen to call for TO. That TO would have been the Texans' last TO since they lost one on their earlier failed challenge. That would have left us at most time for 2 plays, but likely only the one play we were already left to run.
