**Official Game-Day Thread** Bears at Texans!!

Still I am a bit blown away by our secondary. It is not a matter of our defense not giving Cutler some pressure either. Clowney has been closing in fairly quickly on Cutler when Jay quickly threw downfield a good distance on his completions.

It's ******* 9/11 dude. I'd say any forum is the proper place, especially when this DOES involve football. It's just a piece of **** football player choosing to take a political stance on a national day of mourning when people should be showing unity not continuing their divisiveness.

Number one, Foster is no longer a Texan so that post needs to go in the NFL section. Number two, that post has nothing to do with the Bears be Texans game today. Number three, these forums as had a problems with people staying on topic. So stay on topic and recommend posting your opinion about that in a new thread in the NFL section.

I have SERIOUSLY overestimated how good our Defense is. Especially the secondary. We will be fortunate if the Texans pull this one out with the way they played in the first half.
 
Need more pressure on Cutler, no push up front. DB's are getting roasted because Cutler has forever to throw. Offensively they are going downfield too much with little success, tone that back down to an intermediate passing game and continue to punish them on the ground and we win.

Man everyone is so negative. Have some faith. Down 4. Safeties suck, we always knew that. Fuller is a rookie whose knock was couldn't catch. We knew that too. Not every game is an easy.
 
After last years start I knew not to get too excited about this team, especially the defense. I don't know what it is but they seem to play uninspired early.

Os looks OK
Defense is better in my mind than on the field
Fuller was open deep twice, one he dropped the other on Os
Where is clowney

Cutler for all his issues isn't a scrub. He can read a defense and deliver a strike. Our DL and LBs need to get pressure and hits. He's way too comfortable right now.
 
My concern with the Texans under BOB is the consistent slow starts to the season, or maybe I'm just imagining it.

First half take:

1. Offense will come together and be pretty darn good this year
2. Fuller should spend 4 hours every day with the Jugs Machine
3. Secondary can't do anything but get better- hard to get worse
4. JamTex practices well during the week but doesn't do anything on game day

Well each one is different and each year he's started over with a new QB so that has a lot to do with it. This year the iffense has so many new parts. It's to be expected IMO.

I didn't realize you were a mod.

Foster was a Texan as recently as last year. Anyway, all you're doing is bumping my post by responding. Foster's a piece of ****. I said what I had to say.
 
Were we a slow starting team last year? I don't remember now. We need some defensive adjustments. Offense seemed to get better as the game got going.

Cutler is talented but his MO is that if you start hitting him then he'll wilt.

We aren't hitting him.

Clowney seems to be the one getting the most pressure on Jay Cutler. He has been right near Cutler on his deep throws. Our secondary sucks today pure and simple. Has little to do with us pressuring Jay Cutler or not. Yes it would help to get more pressure than we have but even when we have gotten that pressure our secondary still got burned on long passes.
 
Need to get some pressure on Cutler. Watt is playing inside the tackles nearly every snap. Need to get him back outside the right tackle. Clowney has been wide against a below average left tackle one on one and can't do a thing. Need to put Mercilus back outside left tackle, Watt outside right tackle.
 
Remember last season our Defense didn't really get it together till they got handed that beat down by the Dolphins. So accusations of slow starts are somewhat warranted. I do think we look better this season, specifically on offense. Defense will get there once we know whether or not we have JJ really back or not
