The link should be working now....sorry for the delay

http://www.draftreggie.com

I have created this domain and quick survey for those of us that are concerned about the upcoming draft...and those of us that are concerned about the direction of the team...

I personally have invested a fair amount of money in the last 4 years and do not wish to see this 1st pick wasted.

I may expand on the survey if we get results....until then it is a quick 2 questions....

if you would like to participate go to:

http://www.draftreggie.com/

I will deliver the results to the Houston Texans in both printed and digital format prior to the draft....

Funny thing is.. you aint going to get the answer you desire if you do this. We have to many needs to pick up an another RB, no matter how good he is.

Doesn't matter, it is a done deal - Bush WILL be here next year.

You need to get into a different reality... In this one, we will trade down.

How about a little friendly (non-monetary) wager??? I guess we can always go the "I told you so route."

If you were here more, I would bet you your avatar for 1 month. But you have very few posts making it not worth it.

I still say addressing our O-line and the protection of David Carr are more important than drafting Reggie Bush no matter how good he is. We have DD, Wells, Hollings, and others as RBs. Why would we need more? Unless in some insane way we do draft Reggie and trade DD off for an o-lineman but I don't see that happening. If it does I'll do this... :brickwall

The draft is more then the 1st round. Almost a given an OL will be our 2nd round pick.

This post is just TOOOOOO FUNNY!!!!!:) If I had but one wish today it would be for Reggie Bush to say he was going to finish his senior year. JUST so some of you guys would go away and quit posting about him.

Dime,

Sorry that I have a job, etc and not able to spend as much time on the Internet as I would like. However, your posting numbers don't equate to knowledge about the game or "inside information" as to the team's drafting/free agency plans. However, I will be sure to "visit" with you on this site in April to remind you of today's discussion.

ROFL. 'I have a job' is your excuse. So does 95% of the people here. It would have been better to just leave that sentance out and state you were new, since you are.

ROFL. If my posting numbers dont equate to stuff, then your numbers tell you that you need to research the Texans a bit more based on the plans of the team. ROFL. That was probably one of the du.... no... I will be nice. That was not a good thought out statement from you. I have no problem with you 'visiting' me later on this, but forgive me, because I probably wont remember who you are.

Dime,

Why the anger? I really don't understand folks who post on Internet sites and take it so personal. Unfortunately, my job may require me to work longer hours and time away from my computer. In fact, I spent all of last season and most of this off season out of the country. Semper Fi. So please don't give me this "high and mighty" approach to number of posts as a requisite to being able to talk about the game. I guess the fact that I was one of the first few hundred PSL owners would make me more qualified to post than others? We both know that is not the case. Give it a rest.

Why can't we just agree to disagree on Bush? My wager comments were meant to be a good natured way to have some fun with an other wise not-so-fun end to the season. It isn't an attack on you, so don't take it that way.

And btw, I have researched the Texans and think I have a pretty good grasp on their needs. In fact, if you read my post, I didn't necessarily say that I was entirely opposed to the possibility of trading down (while right now I lean toward taking Bush). However, I am pretty confident that Bush will be here next year - plain and simple.

And forgive me if I really don't care if you remember me or not... Happy New Year.

No anger. Its a known fact Jarheads and us Flyboys dont mesh well (grin). It might have come across that way, but not intended.

Your right... We are not going to agree on Bush.

Lastly, if you write me about 3 months from now, there aint going to be anyway I will remember you over that period of time. Because I have many things in my life going on, and this conversation doesnt rank real high. Sorry. Actually, if you look over your last post, your post has more emotion in it the mine does.

Darn flyboys! :pigfly:

You would probably have a little emotion if you were not only a Texans fan this weekend, but were also a Miami Hurricane...not exactly a great football weekend.

Honestly, I am not sure what the right move is with the number one pick. I really like Reggie, but I can see the point about gathering some extra picks. Should be a fun off season and I look forward to seeing how it plays out.

And on a side note, I came to this site to learn more about the Texans and that education comes from fellow posters such as yourself. While me may disagree how this will play out, it is my hope that we are both pleased with how things turn out next year.

Houston,

Thanks for the site...nice highlight reel too!
Even if you don't think Bush should be a Texan you should still watch the highlight reel....Very fun to watch...that man is bad to the bone!

Oh nose, some people would start cheering for our opponents all of next season so we can get Bush then :)

Boys, Boys, Boys, play nice on the message board! h-town cane...Matt Flynn, who knew???!!!

I will not rub any harder than that, I figured you guys would do more damage to Louisiana than Katrina and Rita put together. (If we don't laugh,we will only keep crying)

Anyway, the Texans will have no choice but to draft Bush. He is a good Rose Bowl and a good combine away from being the greatest prospect ever. The pressure will leave the Texans no choice.

Besides, now that we have retained Casserly, who would trust him to do the right thing with a trade down scenario???

It has all been good natured ribbing and I appreciate the dialogue on this board. I promise to behave!

Yeah - Flynn...who knew? LSU played with heart and defintely deserved to win that game. My guys came out flat and quit early on. Well, it has been an interesting day for both of my teams. Capers and Co. are gone from this end and my 'Canes fired several of their assistant coaches. At least I can root for the homestate Longhorns this week...

Here here. At least there's one voice of common sense in this sea of insanity.

I do believe the Texans have drafted a RB every year of their existence. We are well-stocked at that position. It's time we address the myriad of other needs this team has. Drafting a RB certainly won't help our rushing or passing defense.

I don't have an especially great avatar, but I will go the monetary route any day. Regardless of it being a good personell descision, drafting Bush will generate the most CASH FLOW.
The Texans are a business.

OUT!

People come to see the team, not just one player. That may be the case in the NBA, but if the Texans draft Bush and end up going 0-6 out of the box in 2006, then you'll see a bunch of empty seats again -- whether Bush is scoring TDs or not. That 0-6 start has a good chance of happening if they don't do something about their porous rushing defense, pass defense and their inability to rush the passer. And, as I recall, Reggie Bush doesn't play defense.
