Of course, it's also against the norm for this team to play two bad halves (except for the Rams game). And lead aside, it played a bad first half. So hopefully the Raiders aren't the Rams, and we'll be OK.

The point of the season is to Make the playoffs and ultimately get to the Super Bowl and win. That's the big picture. Obviously you aren't capable of seeing past this week.

Honestly I don't think you have a clue how to enjoy sports. All you do is whine like a woman OTR. so why don't you GTFO and start your own thread on how to whine and miserable. You can add a special section that explains how to act like a douche and call people names who don't agree with your POV.

Are you a fan of the team or a fan of the draft pick?

IF we were to make it to the SB any year, would you say "I hope we lose so we get a better pick?"

Mussop, you accuse ME of not knowing how to enjoy sports? How the **** can I enjoy sports when losers like YOU are blood-sucking ghouls putting out incessant garbage about rooting against their team for DRAFT PICKS? Why? So they can blow and so you can then blame Kubiak and Rick Smith for making a terrible choice? What's happening is me not being able to enjoy us being in the lead because I have to fight this constant "tank!" garbage even though we're finally playing very well right now. The defense, anyway.

I enjoy sports plenty. I don't enjoy stupidity.

Of course they wouldn't. Sometimes the best thing for the team is to take the short term licking for long term success. Look at the Colts. Tanking in the right season can set a team up for a decade of winning.

Dunno what the 2014 draft looks like, but if the Texans have no hope of making the playoffs for a possible miracle run, they might has well go player development mode and maximize that pick value.

Like The Raiders tanking to get JaMarcus Russell? Or the Chargers tanking to get Ryan Leaf?

For most teams not named the Colts, this rarely works.

Cuz it sucks. I want to discuss the game with fellow Texans fans but a few morons always ruin things. It's the worst. But there's nowhere else to go. This board is the only Texans board with lots of volume.

Makes perfect sense if you understand the incentive structure created by the draft. You don't do it just to do it. You do it for a specific target. And you do it if 1-3 wins can be the difference maker between drafting Amobi Okoye or drafting Adrian Peterson. What did those late season 3 wins win the Texans?
 
I want Harris to get more time. He needs to get tested. I like him more as a slot corner where he can be more physical, but he needs extended playing time to finally prove he can or can't play. Texans sometimes don't do their guys favors by putting them in favorable situations.

No anticipation. Watch McCain and Harris, they always wait on the WR and then react to the route. That's why they're always a step behind.

Now watch Joseph. He anticipates the route and sometimes is running it for the WR. He's lost a step recently and is getting beat more, but he has that awareness that Harris and McCain sorely lack.
