Nyj, You Are On The Clock!!!!!

Being a longtime Houston fan, things couldn't be coming together any better. Texas wins the Rose Bowl, Vince Young is MVP, has a National Championship and had a dominating Bowl performance that may have him leap frog Lienert and Bush. He will come out, MONEY IS MONEY!!!

With Young, Lienert and Bush available, the Texans couldn't have dreamed of a better scenerio. The NYJ who are on the outside looking in and probably feeling as if someone took a leak on their Corn Flakes at the #4 spot should be willing to deal with the Texans who could command a nominal fee to swap picks. With the current needs of this Texans team, YLB if taken, would also suffer the Carr Syndrome for maybe the first two years. The Texans need players who bring an impact to the team TODAY and do not require as many pieces around them to really become effective. Just look at Carr, give this man what he needs and he will shine. How many examples do fans have to see to understand this. Oh well, here's another, amazing how Plummer looked this season playing in Denver, finally lived up to his hype. My take, this guy is only going to get better. It may take another season for this "Shell Shocked" QB to really trust his protection and natural instincts again.

Texans, cash in on that #1 pick and swap with the NYJ who in my mind would probably give up with no hesitation the #4 pick and their Round 2 and 3 picks this year and maybe next years #1 and a Round 4 pick. That's a lot of picks to begin a rebuilding program. With our abundance of RB's put DD out there and see if we can possibly add another Round 1 or 2 pick this year.

I think two really nice players, that could offer immediate impacts would be LB-AJ Hawk (R1-4) and TE-David Thomas (I do not know his current projection), who absolutely amazed me last night and has had a very solid season. The Texans must size up the next two drafts as drafting the best trenchman and LB's available at that current pick. As we stock pile potential starters and back-ups in the KEY positions to create a solid foundation, additional skill players (DB's, RB's, WR's and QB's) can be added very easily through free agency. A solid foundation will in the majority of situations make your skill players look much better.

I agree with a lot of what you said, but there is no way the Jets would give up all those picks, remember they are rebuilding too. I think we could get the #4 pick and a 2nd or 3rd rounder (not both, much less next years 1st and 4th round picks).

The Jets must get a QB or Bush. There is no other way when your team is in New York. We may not get all those picks but you will never know if you don't ask. In business you always start high and always know what your bottom line is. Trust me, the Jets want this pick very badly all we need to find out, is how bad?

NYG gave up a 1st, a future first, and a 3rd for Eli Manning (the first was the 3rd pick), and Bush, Lienart, and Young are all better than Eli

Casserly is going to have to earned his paycheck this offseason. He is under a microscope and will need have all the right moves to straighted this thing out. First one was on Capers and Co., now it's on Casserly.

right on genius :thumbup

If we get NYJ to take the offer, I see us with potentially 4 picks of the first 41 picks available. Crazy as it sounds my projections would go like this:

R1-4 OLB- Hawk -Ohio St. ( Swap with NYJ )

R2-33 OT - Scott -Texas ( Our pick )

R2-36 OT - Colledge -Boise State ( From NYJ )

R2-37 DT - Wroten -LSU ( Potential Trade of Davis to the Packers ) or

R2-41 OG - Spencer -Pitt ( Potential Trade of Davis to the Lions if Wroten is off the board )

Don't forget that Round 3 we have our pick, the Saints pick and potentially the NYJets pick. This is how you begin building a long term winner.

Edit: Does anyone else think David Thomas might still be around come the 3rd round? Could be a steal, if he is still on the board.

And you know what, I've been one of Casserly's biggest critics since day one, but if can turn this around and have a good draft and pick up decent Free Agents then I will make a banner for his cause.

The thing is, if Casserly mainly hits on his picks he could turn the franchise around in a year or two. If he bombs...again...and again...we could be looking at some gloomy days. Especially if he passes on Vince and his pick busts while Vince has a great career, he will need to watch his back in Austin.
