Well I'm from Dallas but I have tried to get into the Texans since they are on my TV every Sunday now that I live closer to Houston. I work at NBC and was at the first home game against the Cowboys as a cameraman. I actually got on ESPN because our Sports Reporter and I rushed the field and got a few words from Carr right after the game.

I was so excited about this season. I wanted them to pick Young but realized that was not going to happen. I even saw it as the right move. Hey at least we are getting Bush right? I even bought season tickets with some friends this past week. It's the first time I dropped some major cash to get season tickets to any pro team. NOW if you are interested in buying them from me let me know. There is no way I'm driving in to watch them every Sunday. I feel like I have been robbed.

What were they thinking? Bush would have paid for himself in jersey sales alone!!! Young would have been even a better marketing tool but if it was a financial decision Bush would have gotten their money back. This is ridiculous.

If you are a new team you need to consider the fans some. It's not like they wanted you to draft someone who did not deserve to get drafted. Now you have bent your fans over and given it to them HARD. If you were going to do something so stupid why not go ahead and draft Young? This draft was a no brainer. Now everyone's jobs are at stake and the fans are going to turn on you BIG TIME. I'll be rooting against the Texans now. Not because I don't like the players but because I want to see the high ups fired.

You have done your team and your fans WRONG.

I would love to see how many people already ordered Bush jerseys and had them ready for the party tomorrow. (Which I will not be attending now). I'll definitely be getting up early to see this. It's going to be crazy in Houston. I'm glad I'll have extra footage to watch when my Sports Guys get back from the party. This is going to be funny.

It's just mind blowing. To think I have sat and helped interview these guys and they seemed sane at the time.

This is like Dallas not taking Aikman with the first pick when they had the chance.

The Texans are going to pay for this for years. They will NEVER overcome this. It's going to be mentioned in every NFL Films show about the Texans from now on. This is your legacy Houston. Up until now your fans have supported you through all kinds of horrible seasons. Let's see how supportive they are now. You just set yourself up to fall BIG TIME. I did not think you had far to fall after being so bad on the field but now you have proved me wrong. My entire perspective has changed of this organization.

I could type until the draft starts tomorrow but I have to stop somewhere. So might as well stop now.

....and to think I'm this upset over this and I'm a Cowboys Fan!!! LOL I can't even imagine how upset Texan fans must be. Unbelievable.

Man was I stupid to buy season tickets. Now I'll be lucky to even get face value for them!!!

THANKS A LOT TEXANS.

THANKS A LOT TEXANS.

You've been listening to talking heads too much. The talking heads also talked about how Blair Thomas, Lawrence Phillips, Curtis Enis and Archie Griffin were must picks as well. Good pass rushing creates turnovers which leads to victories.

Watch the door on your way out. And thanks for ensuring that when you sell your tickets, a real fan will be watching us play next fall and not some half-wit "fan" who'll bolt as soon as things don't go their way.

Just read over a few other posts. Either the Texans have a LOT of guys on here trying to settle everyone down while acting like they are "just fans"... or some of you are in denial. This is HUGE. There is now way to downplay it. I have no idea how someone could justify this and not reacting any other way. The Texans are now the laughing stock of the NFL... well except in New Orleans or the Jets camp. They LOVE you.

Don't let them get away with this. As ticket holder we deserve better. I'll be writing them... you can bet on that.

I want a REFUND on my season tickets. The best marketing they ever did was deciding to sale season tickets BEFORE the draft.

Please.

I WORKED at Texas Stadium when the Cowboys went 1-15!!! I was at every game... and the preseason. I AM a true fan. This is WRONG and you know it. I have a friend in Austin who has had season tickets since season 1 and he has been pumped about getting Bush since the season ended. Now you tell me a guy who drives all the way in from Austin to watch the Texans does not have a right to get upset over this. PLEASE... he can't even talk about it on the phone he is so mad.

You've been listening to too much sports talk radio. Pass rushing creates turnovers which leads to victories. It's that simple. There are so many good reasons for this pick that they are too numerous to mention. In actuality, there is no way to justify the Bush pick since you already have a good RB who can catch passes (don't need anybody to return kicks with Mathis) and Bush would simply be a part-time player with limited touches. As far as your refund on your tickets, I could care less. I renewed my season tickets even though the team had already made a huge mistake by hiring Kubiak, but I never even thought of asking for a refund. Just remember, somebody will quickly snatch up your season tix and you'll have to wait in line like everybody else to get them back.

I am one of those people trying to settle things down, pump up Mario becuase I believe as a Texans fan he is the best pick fo this team.

Do you really think the FO cares what the fans think? Fans no jack about football, even the most knowledgable know little compared to football professionals.

Get on board and stop complaining.

Did you just compare Reggie Bush to Lawrence Phillips?

Come on man! We are on the same side here. I'm not your enemy. I'm an upset fan like most I know. Matter a fact I do not know a single Texan fan who is not upset over this other then a few guys on this forum.

Bush is the real deal. Yea the guy we are drafting is a FREAK but unless his name is Taylor he won't control any games for us. If Bush were just above GOOD it would make a HUGE difference for us. With Davis and Bush running together maybe...just maybe...Carr could actually play what we call football and not Tackle the Man with the Ball.

I had gotten on board. I'm just glad the boat has not left yet and I can possibly get off.

I respect you trying to put a good spin on this. Mario is going to be good. HOWEVER this is just sad for Texan fans.

My best friend is the defensive cordinator for George Teague. You know the guy who hit TO when he tried to celebrate on the Cowboy star. Teague is still close to the Cowboy players and from what my friend told me they are all amazed by this and they KNOW football.

I can't believe I'm this bothered by it. I really can't believe this forum is not blown up over this. It tells me either the Texan fans knew something I did not know, which I doubt since I work in news, or they are so shocked they are frozen in their seats. The Cowboy fans would have already gone to the head offices and dragged the managment out into the streets. LOL

Maybe they are all headed to the head offices now and that is why they are not on these boards.

This is simply HISTORIC.

You know all those draft stories you see on NFL Films about Elway and such. Well we are living one right now. Only this time it's not a player being stupid it's the team.

C'mon man, that's not a valid argument! It's not like there have never been any DE draft busts as well. Courtney Brown, Steve Emtman, Andre Wadsworth etc.... The one positive about this scenario though is that the draft is definitely deeper at RB then at DE. If you guys really want a RB you can go Addai, Calhoun, even LenDale White at the top of the 2nd. I really hope it's a LT though, upgrading that position should have been priority.

I'm loggin off now. My freakin blood pressure is too high. SERIOUSLY!!!

This is insane. I hope I wakeup in the morning and this was all a nightmare... a smoke screen and when it comes time to call out who we chose it will be Bush.

PLEASE GOD... wake me up from this nightmare.

I live in Austin and have season tickets. Let me tell you what is upsetting: traveling 3 hours and watching the team go 2-14 and play uninspired football. I don't give a damn who the team drafts as long as the play leads to better football and more wins. Perhaps, and I know this is a stretch, but perhaps your friend is wrong about his assessment of these two players. I don't know who the better player will be, but I like the pick because it is unpopular and an indicator that the team isn't trying to cater to the fans in the short term but has its eye on building a winning team... The easy pick would have been Bush or Young.

I completely echo the original poster's sentiments here. This is historic. A Level 5 Stomach Punch, for those of you ESPN Sports Guy readers. The pick WAS too easy - Vince or Reggie, period. Instead they go take a guy who got sacks in 16 of his 36 games at NC State???????? (Check the stat - it's correct, and makes this seem even more ridiculous.) Mario even said to some reporter rhetorically, "Who doesn't take plays off during games?" Great pick, Texans. :brickwall

I too have season tickets - suffered through 2-14 and still renewed in anticipation of Vince or Reggie because it's blatantly obvious that you don't pass on either talent no matter what the hell your "team needs" are. You take the best guy available, period. What happened to that??? Anything - ANYTHING - else is overthinking it and making a Rubik's Cube out of a Tic-tac-toe game. It's easy because it's right, nobody could fault you if the guy fails, and you sell tickets and merchandise and gain a tremendous national following in the process. OR NOT...

I'll be calling the ticket office Monday morning to get a refund. I'm not driving in to see the same team plus some bum who played hard less than half of his college career. Meanwhile, tomorrow is going to be a nonstop "What the heck were they thinking?" commentary by all the talking heads on ESPN and NFL Network.

Personally, I think it was a smart pick..Hasn't Davis been a good RB for you guys? Looking at your depth chart, I'd say Williams could fill an actual need position. The only possible better choice, IMO, would've been Ferguson to give Carr some actual protection.
