Not enough quality tallent to trade down

The tallent pool in this years draft is a little shallow, so a trade down for extra picks doesn't seem worth the trouble IMHO, The quality of personel drops off drasticly after around #19, or even lower, so to me trading up, OR (god forbid) staying @ good-old luky #13.

The talent plateaus and the quality is the same from mid to late first round.. until about mid to late 3rd round. thats my opinion anyway.

SO.. really you could say that if we do not have one of the elite players fall to us, or if we dont trade up.. that trading down and gaining extra picks within that "window" would be a good move.

Actually, the talent drops after about 6 players and the next level is pretty deep. This is probably an ideal year to move back as you may very well likely get just as good a player at 30 as you would at 13. Last year the draft was considered 'deep' because there were players to be found in rounds 4-6. This year the draft is not considered 'deep' because of a lack of elite talent at the top of the draft, not because you cannot find viable players in rounds 2-4. This draft isn't as deep as last years though. I don't think the second day players are of the same quality as last years second day players.

I think the issue will be finding someone to dance with. It sounds like a lot of teams will want to move back.

I think very few people (if any) have the predictive ability to determine the
relative level of talent between different drafts. Conventional wisdom says last years draft was stronger than this years, but I still think that this years draft will have a 50-50 chance of having more of its members elected to the HOF than last years.

All you have to do is watch a few games and see where they are rated. I didn't see that many guys who blew me away like last season. Also, many of the guys who have been pimped as first day picks didn't impress me when I watched them play. You don't have to be Nostradamus to form an opinion on some of these guys and project what kind of talent they may or may not have at the next level.

I wonder if Green Bay would want to move up to get Alex Smith if he fell a bit. You have to be thinking that they are just waiting for that retirement announcement.
