Reports out of the NFL combine (courtesy of the NFL network, I love that channel) is that Romeo Crennel has his eye on DJ for the #3 pick. He's moving to a 3-4 and wants DJ as an outside pass rusher. With the recent signing of Greenwood, and with Sharper and Foreman on the trading blocks, where does this leave us at the #13 pick? I'm pretty sure Sharper will stay and Foreman is most likely gone. Are we still in the hunt for an ILB or are we moving on to O-line or possibly a corner? The linebacking core of this combine isn't exactly bursting with talent. There maybe 3 or 4 solid early to mid first rounders. What are ya'lls thoughts of trading down and stocking up? Or are we so close to the cap that we can't afford too many more picks. And should just go for a big name and hope for the best?

3 ILBs with early to mid 1st potential? I'd say there is one(Crowder). I'd say there are 3 OLB with early to mid potential, but ILB, I dunno.

Either way, I stick to my guns with Barron.
 
I dont think that if we drafted an O linemen he would start. He would challenge but I am not covinced that the coaching staff is ready to give up on Wand.

They're not. He's coming around. He'll be fine. Plus I don't think we'd draft an O linemen that high with this year's class. Don't get me wrong, there's some good ones but no Robert Gallery types.
 
If we draft an O-lineman I believe tht it will be a center or a gaurd or maybe both. I dont think that the Texans are ready to give up on Wand. I dont blame them for that though, I think that he dida prety good job for a 1st year starter.
 
I think Wand did well too. But if we had to draft an O linemen, I'd go with Baas from Michigan. The kid is a straight up STUD.He's a G/C type with decent speed when he pulls. He also has a great first punch.
 
OK, new reports from Mel Kiper. It seems the Browns are in the market for a young new QB. It all depends on who the niners take. Even with the signing of Trent Dilfer, they still want a "young gun" to learn the ropes from a vet who has done it all. So now that leaves the Cards possibly in our way to DJ.
 
don't leave out tenn. before the Cards. I know they need a CB, but they are just crazy enough to pick DJ @ #6, so if this is true about the brows, we could still make a deal involving sharper and our first rounder so they can select the QB from Auburn (he has the skill to be a first rounder) and Alex Smith, or the Cal QB could still be on the board by the time 13 rolls around
 
ive known all along that we weren't getting DJ, we need to trade sharper and pick 13 to the browns for their 3rd pick, than snatch DJ.
 
When are you people going to realize that DJ is not going to be a Houston Texan. He's the best defensive player in the draft, hands down. He won't fall out of the top 5.

No way!! Taylor already had run-ins with the law before the draft. And as far as DJ goes, he's been the leader of the Horns for two years. He won't turn into Taylor. (crossing fingers...)
 
I don't mean in that sense. I mean that a ton of posters will beg for us to trade up to get him...whatever the cost, just like Sean Taylor.
