No "can't miss" players in this Draft ?

Interesting topic amoung several discussed in the story about players in the upcoming draft. The thing that puzzles me about E.James vs. Pollack is that the latter clearly was the superior player in the Outback Bowl, but everone still have James ranked = to or > Pollack.

Marcus Spears is a true elite Defensive Linemen that is capabable of playing in a 4-3 or 3-4 scheme at the point of attack. Shaun Cody is similar but not elite, a much lower rated prospect. Erasmus James is the best pass rushing DE for a 4-3 defense while Cody is not as spectacular he is more verstile. Pollack in my opinion is one of the top OLB prospects (along with Merriman who he fails to mention) while Roth reminds me of a Jason Babin.

puzzuled why EJames is rated higher than Pollack? Just look at their measurables (the combine should be releasing figures anyday now & when they do I'll add them here_________). Plus even though both played DE in College those positions often change, hence Pollack OLB in the NFL so they should'nt even be compared. rookies

puzzuled why EJames is rated higher than Pollack?

The one time I saw Spears was the Senior Bowl game (on TV), and he was quick and fit - in other words not just a stout but slow, fat downlineman -
but beyond that - elite ? If you say so, but I didn't see him make a single outstanding play, let alone take the game over or anything like that. But he is an impressive 300 lb physical specimen.
I did not see the Outback Bowl where Wisconsin & James played Auburn & Pollack, but read in multiple places that James stunk up the place while Pollack had 3 sacks amoung other things on his way to winning MVP award in that game. So maybe James cranks out a better 40 time, but on the field in
a championship bowl game, there was no comparison between the 2. That's why I'm surprised Pollack doesn't atleast have parity in the comparison.

If you want to get a good look at Spears you'll have to watch him throughout his career like any other prospect. It's hard to judge him by one All Star game. Sure it can bring a player some attention if he performs well, but by playing solidly or not being outstanding it shouldn't hurt his stock any.

As far as the Outback Bowl went it was clearly a good showing for Pollack of Georgia, but both Pollack and James were playing injured. James injured his leg, and Pollack had an arm injury I believe. I think Pollack brings an intensity and work ethic that not many players in this draft have, and it should give him a slight edge.

Pollack is one of my favorite players in this draft. He has a bit of that Ray Childress intensity thing going on, is a great kid and is very smart. Not sure where he will end up but he seems undervalued by the mocksters on balance.

This draft class doesn't have too many elite talents. This is one draft class that we should expect to see some names early on draft day we haven't discussed much (as an early pick).

Compairing James and Pollack is like compairing the patriots and the eagles, one has more star power but the other makes more plays and wins more games. Pollack has been a playmaker through out his college career and stayed healthy, while James has good numbers while he is healthy.
