REGGIE BUSH, RB, USC

Obvious pick and Ive actually started to accept Bush. His athletic ability (see picture above) and speed adds another dimension to our offense and gives teams someone else to fear. Him and Davis can also feed off each other and can compliment each other rather nicely. I said that Bush shouldnt be the feature back, and with Davis, he doesnt need to be. I thought about Mario, but I feel he's more of a backup pick at this point. My head would be gone if I didnt make this pick . . .

DANIEL BULLOCKS, S, NEBRASKA

With Winston and no OT worthy of the pick, I went DB but Bullocks because he can play either Safety position and help us out. We have Glenn Earl and CC Brown, but they are both more along the lines of Strong Safeties. While Bullocks played SS in college as well, he has the athletic ability to cover players well and be the hitter he was at Nebraska. Hell, he's 6'1" 212 and runs a 4.38 which is something we NEED back there. Could instantly help out Dunta and the others and can be everything Matt Stevens and Marcus Coleman haven't been for us at this position.

JON SCOTT, OT, TEXAS

Using a 2nd round pick on him would be a reach, but he slipped to the 3rd round which is a great value pick. He has great size and is athletic enough to be a solid LT in the zone blocking scheme. He's been slipping lately because of his mechanics and technique, but I feel that with Sherman coaching him, most of his problems can be corrected. We need a solid option at OT because Wade and Wiegert havent been it for us, so Scott is a great need pickup.

GERRIS WILKINSON, LB, GA TECH

At this pick, Wilkinson is a great pickup. He has great size (6'3" 235 lbs) and has good speed (4.62 40 time). He is most known for his athletic ability and his strong tackling techniques. His versatility also allows him to play either OLB or MLB in the 4-3 scheme that Houston will now use. With Wong out til mid-season and Cowart up there in years, Wilkinson can have time to develop into a starter instead of getting rushed into it. He also could be our future starter at MLB or SLB depending on what is necessary.

TIM DAY, TE, OREGON

Hasnt been announced yet, but with the first pick in the 4th round, there is no possible way I could pass on my favorite TE prospect in Tim Day!! He is massive for his size, but still is athletic enough to line up in the slot and go over the middle of the field. His best atribute is his balanced play. He is a solid blocker and can catch the ball with ease. He hasnt been productive in college, but has such amazing potential and could shine with the way that Kubiak places emphasis on TEs.

JAMES WYCHE, DE, SYRACUSE

With Houston reverting back to the 4-3, a traditional DE is needed. Houston did a good job bringing in Anthony Weaver and ND Kalu as FAs, and Babin and Peek will try to move back to the position, but depth and help are needed at the position. Wyche has amazing size at 6'5" 265 lbs and ran a 4.63 40. He also was relatively productive during his tenure at Syracuse, recording 4.5 sacks his senior year. He also has great potential and can develop real nicely.

EJ WHITLEY, OT, TEXAS TECH

With no viable options at CB or any other positions, EJ Whitley came to mind. He's got good size for the zone blocking scheme and has the versatility to move and play all the positions on the line. Being from Texas Tech, he has also been exposed to pass blocking extremely often. At the worst, he offers us versatility and depth on the line which is something that we've been in seach of for years.

thomas isn't really that athletic. poor hips and he gets beat by the speed rushers too easy. doesn't really fit the zone-block at all.

whos Thomas??

I could live with that draft. I like the first two picks. They could come in from Day 1 and play.

The picks in the 3rd round and on could be worked in and get some playing time by the end of the season, especially the LB.

Good job.

I think he ment Johnathan Scott. I doubt we take him. But not because he isn't athletic enough. He has the same probem as Wand, upper body strength.

Nice mock. Liked the Bullock pick. but while you were patting yourself with that one, you let all the preimere OL's and CBs run off the board. And we're left to scrap the barrel with the Tech Kid ? Not knocking the TT kid. He may be a good player in a couple of years , but Jeeeze. So basically you're saying that Carr will be fine with Bush and the Stand pat O-line. Hello 4 and 12. Over all I think you did a good Job. Bullock fits a "need". However, you take him @ the 33, you pay a price. That's why this stuff is an art not a science. That's also why even with the two all worlds sitting there, you try to move down. They cannot go to war next year with the right CB situation as it is now.Even with the new additions to the OL disaster is one injury away. Not unless they're intentionally tring to tank the season for the '07 draft. And maybe Sherman is a stinking genuis with the scheme. We'll see. My book says you set the record for sacks allowed over a four year period, it's time to start drafting OL early and often. On a positive note, you're mock sets up the Carr bashers and the VY "I told you so posters" very nicely. I can hardly wait for '06. The hits just keep on comin' .

Good job, all your picks look good. I've made some of those picks in other mock drafts. And I think that Wilkinson is going to be a beast.

There was a UDFA auction, here's who I picked up . . .

Aaron Gipson, CB, Oregon (lead NCAA in INTs)
Aaron Harris, LB, Texas (UTs leader on defense)
Justin Wyatt, CB, USC (plays bigger and faster than listed)
JD Runnels, FB, Oklahoma (Kubiak's type of FB)
Rashon Powers-Neal, RB, Notre Dame (see above)
Cory Rodgers, WR, TCU (quick, shifty receiver with big play ability)
Rob Smith, OL, Tennessee (smart, tenacious OL)
Marques Colston, WR, Hofstra (big target, great hands)
Vince Meeks, FS, Texas Tech (Because I go to Texas Tech . . . )
