Obvious pick and Ive actually started to accept Bush. His athletic ability (see picture above) and speed adds another dimension to our offense and gives teams someone else to fear. Him and Davis can also feed off each other and can compliment each other rather nicely. I said that Bush shouldnt be the feature back, and with Davis, he doesnt need to be. I thought about Mario, but I feel he's more of a backup pick at this point. My head would be gone if I didnt make this pick . . .
DANIEL BULLOCKS, S, NEBRASKA
With Winston and no OT worthy of the pick, I went DB but Bullocks because he can play either Safety position and help us out. We have Glenn Earl and CC Brown, but they are both more along the lines of Strong Safeties. While Bullocks played SS in college as well, he has the athletic ability to cover players well and be the hitter he was at Nebraska. Hell, he's 6'1" 212 and runs a 4.38 which is something we NEED back there. Could instantly help out Dunta and the others and can be everything Matt Stevens and Marcus Coleman haven't been for us at this position.
JON SCOTT, OT, TEXAS
Using a 2nd round pick on him would be a reach, but he slipped to the 3rd round which is a great value pick. He has great size and is athletic enough to be a solid LT in the zone blocking scheme. He's been slipping lately because of his mechanics and technique, but I feel that with Sherman coaching him, most of his problems can be corrected. We need a solid option at OT because Wade and Wiegert havent been it for us, so Scott is a great need pickup.
GERRIS WILKINSON, LB, GA TECH
At this pick, Wilkinson is a great pickup. He has great size (6'3" 235 lbs) and has good speed (4.62 40 time). He is most known for his athletic ability and his strong tackling techniques. His versatility also allows him to play either OLB or MLB in the 4-3 scheme that Houston will now use. With Wong out til mid-season and Cowart up there in years, Wilkinson can have time to develop into a starter instead of getting rushed into it. He also could be our future starter at MLB or SLB depending on what is necessary.
