NFL playoffs 2013-14

13-3 Denver at the half. It definitely has not been the high scoring game I was expecting yet. I'm sure these two teams will pick it up in the 2nd half.

Another 7 minute drive here for the Broncos that ends in a TD. Both Touchdown drives lasted 7 minutes. 20-3 Denver.

It's amazing the Pats made it this far. Trying to find the offensive talent outside of Brady and don't see any. Not to mention a rookie, Jamie Collins, is their best defensive player.

I hear ya. IIRC there was even a thread early on this season asking the question "Do you think the Pats will right the ship" [paraphrasing]. Most thought yes, they would. I agreed, mainly due to the AFC East. Turns out they only went 4-2 in the division while going 6-2 against the rest of the schedule (I'm cheating, looking at nfl.com at the moment). Of those four division wins, two were by a combined five points.

Yet, they win in NE vs Denver, mauled Pittsburgh and Baltimore, and won all other games they were "supposed" to win.

12-4 is as good as New England could have wrung out with what they had to work with. I grudgingly give them credit for that. Their consistency (if you will) bought them a first round bye in which they only had to beat Indianapolis at home. The road to their date with Denver today was an easy one they made for themselves.

Their future? I think they have hard times coming. I wouldn't even be surprised if BillyChick leaves when Brady does.

Lol, I don't know why I posted this. Your post says what many, myself included, have been wondering since the playoffs began.

Watching Manning lead the Broncos to victory and to the Super Bowl makes me so happy that Kubiak wanted to stay loyal to Schaub.

That should have been texans going to the superbowl with Peyton at the helm.

If the texans actually entertained (instead they shunned him) the thought of signing manning instead of schaub, armed with multiple pro bowlers on both sides of the ball we could have gone to a couple of AFC title games at the very least.

Pretty sure Peyton could have done much more than beating andy dalton with 6 pro bowlers on offense alone.

Instead we are rebuilding.

You reap what you sow.

Could that have been the Texans? With the core group as assembled and Manning leading the charge it makes me wonder.

Guess his neck is ok huh?

Another thread, started by the same OP, saying the same tired thing.

You prove that while hindsight is 20/20, one can still look back and get it wrong.

Is it fitting that arguably the most important play of the game -- Wes Welker knocks Aqib Talib out of the game -- was an illegal pick play that wasn't called?

First play of the game and Russell Wilson fumbles the ball. Niners couldn't have asked for a better opening play. lol

What a dumb**** mistake by wilson. Should have thrown the ball right away. Lucky for them the niners only scored 3.

That's blasphemous against J.J. Watt. Plus Aldon Smith went #7, the Texans didn't take Watt until #11.

I'm betting he was making a little fun of another member here that can't seem to get over the fact that we don't have Peyton (and that, of course, would mean an AUTOMATIC trip to the Super Bowl).

I'm just glad it cost Seattle three points while the Niner offense got it's feet wet.

I still fear a blowout by the Seahawks, but I really hope for a tight slugfest no matter who wins.

I'm expecting a hard-fought defensive battle. These teams don't like each other.

I'm not surprised at all that the 49ers decided to punt it there. Giving the Seahawks the ball at the 40 yard-line could be the type of play that decides this game.

Totally agree.

I was glad to see the refs call for the chains on that 1st down too. Maybe it's just me, but I've seen a lot of 1st downs called when the ball was right on the line this year. Maybe they're making sure due the the importance of the game. Whatever the reason, good of the official to make sure.

Seattle has done a ridiculous job drafting the past few years. Its almost unbelievable how many guys they've hit on.

And That's why they might go to the dance. Carroll had a big impact on the culture and overall effectiveness of the organisation. Hopefully ob can have the same impact

This is my kind of game. I'm pulling for the Niners but really am just glad to watch these two defenses. The AFC Championship Game was a recital compared to this.
