NFL Draft 2010: Day 3

NFL draft tracker blurb:

Pick Analysis: The Texans select Garrett Graham to serve as insurance against Owen Daniels' health situation. Graham is an athletic pass catcher with outstanding hands, and his ability to make big catches in the red zone will help the Texans remain among the league's most explosive offenses.

Jonathan Dwyer is the Rashad Jennings of this draft!

That's what I have been wondering. I was thinking he would go no later than the 3rd and he is still sitting there. Is there a medical or drug issue we don't know about? Or is he just overrated by the fans and draftniks?

If he is there in the 5th, I'm not opposed to taking him at all even though we already took Tate. That is great value. Have Tate, Slaton and Dwyer on the roster as your banger and RB is fixed for a long time (barring injury of course)

The thing is...

No one else is taking these guys, either. So all of us who had all these guys graded in the 2nd - 4th rounds were wrong.

There it is. THIS is the key. NOBODY is taking these guys. As much as we love the draft, I am pretty sure that the 32 team offices have spent more time, resources, etc in the process. Does not mean they are right, but it does mean they have inside info we don't.

Tate, Slaton, Dwyer and Foster would be a nice foursome for a RB crew.

Stop that.
Stop it right now!!

maybe this

Georgia Tech running back Jonathan Dwyer tested positive at the NFL scouting combine for amphetamines, FoxSports.com reported Sunday, but Dwyer's agent said teams were aware of his client's medical history.

"All 32 teams received notification prior to the combine that a medication he's taken since childhood would likely result in a positive result at the combine," Adisa Bakari told ESPN's Joe Schad. "We provided the necessary medical documentation."

Dwyer told Schad the medication is for an attention deficit disorder. The NFL calls Dwyer's situation a "therapeutic use exemption," a source told Schad.

"I have had it since I was in the fifth grade," Dwyer said. "Georgia Tech knew about it when I went there. The NCAA knew about it before every drug test I took there. And the league knew about it before the combine as they got several letters from my doctor who prescribed me the medication."

That McClendon pick by the Colts was rated on average as the 454th best player in this draft according to the draft spreadsheet Keyser put together.

I'm starting to like this pick, PLUS, I knew they would pick another TE!

A lot of teams have made similar picks.

People on this board are complaining about the picks that the Texans have been making but other teams are picking guys that we didn't ahve on our board, either. There are 32 boards out there that count and we don't have the luxury of seeing any of them.

Sorry. I am fairly logical by nature:)

Um, "Yeah the Texans front office has screwed up on every pick and we should pencil ourselves in for the first pick in the draft for the rest of the decade"

Better?:)

Remember, the Texan's fanbase is 50% stuck in the 1980s (we want Toby!) and the other 50% leans more modern

Couple that with a team that drafts like its the 1990s and you are bound to get plenty of draft day entertainment

At this point, without looking at need or anything, my board goes like this:

1. Ricky Sapp, Rush End
2. Cam Thomas, NT
3. Jonathon Dwyer, RB
4. Dominique Franks, CB
5. Perrish Cox, CB
6. Matt Tenant, C
7. Kam Chancellor, S
8. George Selvie, Rush End
9. Reshad Jones, S
10. Riley Cooper, WR

These are not necessarily guys I want us to pick but those are all guys I had going MUCH earlier than this.

I'm past predicting or asking for picks, I'm moving into pure read and react mode.

I would love to see us grab one of those CBs

Looks like you can take Chancellor off your list.

Anyone remember when Selvie was considered a high first rounder in LAST year's draft?!

I think someone saw your list.

Well ... the main stream players are not what they want . Let's go for the highly athletic projects .

Joe Webb
Deji Karim
Quentin Scott
Levi Brown ... you gotta have a QB named Levi .
