New Texans Fan, Wanted to Introduce Myself

Good Morning everyone

Just wanted to introduce myself to everyone.

A little about me, I spent 21 years in the USAF and retired in 2004. I now got to school full time at 41 years old and am planning on becoming a high school teacher. I have always liked the Texans and have casually followed them since they came into the NFL. When I began the search for a new team two of my major requirements were a team that had passionate fans, and an organization that not only respected their fans but encouraged them and appreciated them. I can tell that is the Texans to a T and am very excited to learn the teams history and cheer them on each week from NC.

I am excited to have the Texans as my new team and will be proudly flying my Texans flag in front of my house. I am in the process of buying a cpl new jerseys and was wondering if anyone knew where you could get some replica jerseys cheaper than the $75 NFL shop charges? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks again to all those who made me feel so welcome before. This is exciting for me and looking forward to cheering the Texans on from NC!

Greg

Go Texans!

Welcome aboard, man. We're always glad to have new fans into the fold. :cowboy1:

As far as jerseys, I'm partial to custom ones because you never have to worry about a player getting traded or going bust. But those can be a bit higher, so I understand the desire to keep it economical.

So you can find some clearance jerseys on houstontexans.com. There is nothing wrong with wearing the name/number of a former player, IMO. (You can just remove the name, as well, and add your own). They've got some starting as low as $25 on there, too.

Do they have any more Carr jerseys?:specnatz:

Greg,

1)Welcome to the board. I call it home. I hope you truely enjoy your stay.

2)Let me introduce myself. I am Overalls, aka the fat man in funny pants and Tim. I collect military patches of Texans fans and have them sown onto my overalls. I try to rep as many units as I can. If you have a unit patch to spare and would like to contribute to my walking collection please feel free to PM me. Any contribution, BY TEXAN fans is welcome.

Once again thank you to those that have sent patches in the past.

Tim

Send me a message Tim and I will cut some off my old uniforms and send you what I can.

In fact., I will make you a trade, patches for anything Texans you can send in return. Fair enough?

Welcome, I've found the best place to get authentic jerseys at a decent price is Ebay. I'm sure they're knockoffs but they look good.

Did you retire from the AF in NC? My father retired from SC at CAFB.

Yes I did. I retired from Seymour Johnson AFB in Goldsboro in 2004.

Just hung the Texans flag the team sent me out in front of the house. I have to admit, it looks GOOD!
