New 2 Round Projection

You guys are the best. You had alot to say about the last projection our site came out with. Well we just released a two round mock draft today. I love the player I have you taking in the first round, but I'm not sure if you will feel the same way: http://www.nflroughdraft.com/node/3

I think almost everyone on this site will feel the same way i just dont know if he is going to make it to us in the second round. Also is he more important then getting a s because you have both moore and carter available at our pick

Who knows with the Texans, right? Sorry we can't offer enlightenment as to what Rick Smith's game plan will be, but I think they play it safe & pass on potential instead opt for polish. Smith is raw, gifted yes, DeMarcus Ware clone, maybe?

I hate our 5 technique as well nose tackle situation. Mario Williams is not a pure 5 Tech DE, despite five injury riddled years in the league, coming up on his contract year, I feel Texans need back-up. We don't have any idea how Antonio Smith & Amobi Okoye convert to 5 tech ends either? both where certainly not paid big free agent money or drafted in the top 10 to play this position.

All things considered, OLB being a reach (trade down?) accordingly from your board I would be inclined to select Cameron Jordon.

Second round pick seems a bit like wishful thinking, do you feel all those 3-4 teams end of 1st top of 2nd (New England, Pittsburgh, Green Bay, Buffalo, Baltimore, Cleveland) pass on this years biggest space eating NT/NG?

Id also throw in the jets with jenkins unable to stay healthy. I know pouea or however you spell it did a good job stepping in i dont know if he is a true starter and you can never have enough depth at nt

Taylor could definitely be gone by that pick. But keep in mind, the Browns and Bills are going back to the 4-3 and those other teams you mentioned are pretty well set at NT.

I really like your suggestion of Cam Jordan in the 1st. That's something I thought about when I was writing this mock and it is definitely something I'll revisit.

Thank you for your input. There's alot of good stuff there and we'll be releasing 7 round mocks again shortly.

I almost had Taylor going to the Jets, but I thought they were ok with Pouha.

Hes ok nothing special imo he is a great backup maybe they will go for a nt later like fua or williams, but i wouldnt be surprised if they went taylor first round because of the injuries they have had past two years at that position and have their nt for many many years

IIRC, the Jets are going to look for some pass rushers, and 3-4 end..At least, that's what i read on their forum

tackle/end from temple wilkenson is a prospect they are looking at. I have also heard about them going after moch in round 3 and having rex coach him up to being the next pass rusher

Will the real Phil Taylor please stand up. Hope I'm wrong, but from a transformation point of view he kinda reminds me of Albert Haynesworth playing hard his contract year, hits free agency, gets his big pay day then reverts into invisible 340 lb man (if that's possible) from a performance standpoint. If he had played all year like he looked at the Senior Bowl, at a prime weight ratio, he might be compared favorably to last years big DT Dan Williams (drafted #26 by Arizona). One things for sure, there will be a front office who falls in love with the guy

My understanding of Wade's system and the way he described his defense, they will be using a one gap tech, not a 5 tech at DE.

Did I miss something?

In my opinion Aldon Smith is not ready for the NFL. He will need a year or 2 to compete in the NFL. Should have stayed at least another year. The Texans will not be patient enough with their #1 pick to use it on Aldon. If we want to talk Aaron Maybin 2.0, this might be him. We are picking #11, not #30. We need a producer. Not a project. Give me Ayers or Houston here.

I like Taylor in the 2nd round. I think that the Steelers are set, Ravens drafted Cody, Patriots drafted Brace.

Would be hard not to want to trade back into the 2nd for Carter and Clayborn.

Good work, I like your stuff.

I'd rather Cameron Jordan in the 1st, I like Phil Taylor in the 2nd. I would then look to address OLB and S in the 3rd and 4th.
