P&G and the NFL have a website called "Fan-cestry" where they are asking questions about fan histories and giving you a result.

I'm one of 16 sports and/or mommy bloggers asked to get people to sign up for it. If I get the most people to sign up using my specific url, I win two tickets to the SB.

And if I win, 2 of my participants win too. Win-win. It would be good for Houston folks to win.

I'm going to NOLA anyway. I rented a place in July. You know. Because NOLA is fun and well, if my team... well.

In any event, I need people to sign up using this specific url:

One you cast your vote, that url will change into your profile due to your computer's cookies, I think.

But I only get credit for signups using that, and I think it requires everyone that does it to use a Facebook sign up.

So I ask all of y'all to take 5 minutes to answer their questions, and then cut and paste this link to Facebook friends and beg them to do it.

I think I have as good a shot as any. Half the bloggers are mommy bloggers. A bunch of the other ones are from the northeast and may cancel each other out. Here's the blog post I wrote about it.

There is a special website for Tinnbred fans. It's called "In-cestry". They ask questions about family history which is ironic since most Tinnbred fan's family trees have no branches.

I'm not sure. I'm on FB so I didn't know if it was automatically detecting it on my computer.

I was told there was another way to sign up other than FB but it didn't look like it when I tried.

I use FB because if you do journo sort of stuff you sort of have to, but nowadays, so much stuff is requiring FB log-ins. I figure you can always share as much or as little as you want, but that online privacy is sort of a unicorn these days. I've pretty much given up.

This is how you can help if you have no Facebook.

Sign up. It only shows a Facebook signup, but if you try to hit cancel, it will give you an option for a regular sign up.

Send an email to your friends to sign up. You can either send just the link above, or you can send the easily shareable blog post I wrote about it:

On other message boards? Lots of NFL fans out there who want free SB tickets. Share it with them.

Work someplace cool? Ask your co-workers, friends to help out. One of my friends got everybody from her office to sign up.

The last day is Monday at midnight ET. So the good news is that this is a relatively short contest. But we need to get on this quick.

Any body else have ideas? My web connectivity is so bad at Reliant, I can't set up shop in the tailgates.

What I've learned in the world is that it is not easy to ask for help but that people are often cool and want to help when asked. And this is a relatively easy ask it because takes 5 minutes and could result in SB tix.

That doesn't sound right.

You should get a page that introduces Fancestry and has a page of all the teams.

Then sign in. You have a choice between FB signin or cancel, but if you hit cancel you get a regular sign in.

They have a rules page thingy. Agree.

Then you answer a bunch of questions.

Then they give you a profile.

I did, also. With the stipulation that if they win the tickets they have to take me. I don't think it's too much to ask in life to be there when your team is in the Super Bowl. Despite the poor game last Sunday, I still think this is our year.

I'm not exactly sure.

I know that the Take it to the House P&G page often has other NFL-focused fan giveaways, ones where there's not so many participants that you have no chance.

Will say that the last time I participated in the P&G NFL stuff, I didn't notice an uptick in mail/spam so I wouldn't expect that. But obviously I can't guarantee.

Haha, ya, that is pretty sad. I didn't think twice about that at first - I looked it at kinda like a quiz. I kept thinking they were going to test me to see how much I knew from the early years to prove I was a fan since then...
 
I signed up, but I gotta say this site looks pretty lame... Those questions were ridiculous, and most of the answers didn't align with what came to mind. Good luck on the Super Bowl tickets though!

The Texans in a NOLA SB is just almost too beautiful and perfect to imagine. It would be such a homegame given the proximity. And good that the team has played there some so are familiar with it.

And now, with social media, it could be big fun arranging meet ups at places. The possibilities boggle the mind.

I like to dream about this. We just need some injury luck. And some breaks. And some good matchups. And for the team to play like it can.
 
Yeah Steph, I tweeted it out again.. I'll get another one or two out before I shut it down... As an aside, I'm kinda workin' on the whole, "hair of the dog" routine at this point!

Likewise, not currently a US resident so I wasn't eligible. But best of luck. I think you and I were in South Florida for the '07 Super Bowl at the same time, TC. If the Texans are there in NOLA, I will move heaven and earth to be there for it...I've got family in the area so I have a minor head start.
