My turn to call in the troops...

Lauren

Nom Nom Nom
My grandpa has been sick for a few months and the doctors haven't been able to figure out exactly what is wrong with him. I guess that it looks like cancer, but they can't pinpoint where it is located at. They originally suspected that it was in his bone marrow and ended up ruling that out.

He had to have a blood transfusion (2 pints) on Friday and he had another one yesterday. Yet, he and gma still woke up at the crack of dawn and headed down this way from IL for the wedding. They didn't listen to the many pleas from the family to stay put and safe at home and not worry about coming here.

Please send out your prayers for his health and a safe rest of their trip for me. I don't normally get sappy on y'all like this, but I'm really worried.

Thanks.

Best of wishes for your grandfather, Lauren. My sincere thoughts and prayers go out to your grandfather, you, and your family.

Your big day will only be made brighter because of the love your grandpa and grandma have for you! Rejoice in their presence, look into their aging eyes and realize that nothing will make them happier than being at your side when you say "I DO!" Being a parent is a privilege, being a grandparent is a blessing!!

I will keep them in my prayers, and pray for both of them to have good health!

Thanks y'all.

I should say after gg's post about transfusion, I'm very shady on the details. My family tends to keep a lot from me because I tend to freak out about them (ie: my grandma being in the hospital for 3 weeks and I did nothing but sit at home...quiet...and everyone knows how hard it is for me to be quiet). I have a feeling that it's much more serious than they are letting on, but nobody will tell me anything other than the transfusion stuff.

I really do appreciate it.

Never think the worst, always think the best. GrandPa wil be there spoiling the grandchildren so much you will be upset and doing all the things he said never to do to your own kids.

I know how hard it is to go through things and not be told the truth (I am baby of family) but I have learned sometimes it is best because what you think is far worse than what is actually happening.

They are coming to see their baby and to make sure her future husband knows who will kick his ass and I am not speaking of Dad or Grandad, it is always mom or G-Ma who do the ass kicking.

You could be 60 and you will always be their baby, that is how it works.

With that said if I can do anything just ask.

Smile, and always think positive it works better.

I haven't been on here much lately! I just saw this post! You are in my thoughts and prayers. I will say a special prayer for your grandparents!!
God Bless,
Kimberly

Wendy & I will keep him in our thoughts & prayers. Since we're just "around the corner" now, if y'all need anything, just ask.

Lauren if you post a last name and hospital, I would as I am sure others here would too, Would donate blood in his name. Any Gulf Coast Regional Blood center will gladly credit his usage.

My thoughts are with you.:)
