My New Mock

F-minus67

Veteran
After reading the artical a houstonprofootball.com, about what the team will do next year, I am inspired to make a new mock.

1) RB Reggie Bush, USC (a playmaker in the fullest sence of the word)
2) OT Daryn Colledge, Boise St (a LT to develop behind Pitts or at guard)
3) DE/LB Manny Lawson, NC St (maybe this years DeMarcus Ware)
3) TE Joel Klopenstien, Colorado (a big target with soft hands, who can block)
4) G Matt Lentz, Michigan (a mauler who would be an upgrade over Riley)
5) S Greg Threat, Miami (anything would be an upgrade over Coleman)
6) DT/DE Anthony Montgomery, Minnesota (provides solid depth on the d line)
7) OT Taitusi Lutui, USC (a huge tackle, who is a mauler)

I don't understand how the Texans could pass on Ferguson or Winston:confused: cannot comment on Daryn Colledge never seen him play, but I'm pretty sure he is not higher rated than Davin Joseph, so if you could change that I might go for it. that is assuming this Laswon OLB slips to the 3rd (doubtfull). I've also heard about Klopenstien but never seen him play. overall change the top and I would accept the bottom as Matt Lentz & Taitusi Lutui would be steals.:)

cause the way pitts is playing we dont need a LT, i say we sign some FA's to solve are OL problems

The offensive line is giving Carr only 1-3 seconds to throw the ball. Avg offensive lines give their Qb about 5 seconds. If Carr troed to hold the ball 5 seconds, he would get sacked. We need a letgit LT to anchor our Line, and a solid Guard to compliment. We can move Pitts to RT where he will play well.

i dunno, to me it seems like the pressure is coming more from the center more then the left, but yall are the experts

glad you finally figured that one out I was beginning to wonder

yes there is a significant amount of pressure from the Center position as well (when McKinney is there) remember for a brief period that Drew Hodgdon provided a much better front to the pocket, so next season he will be the starter. everyone has shifted positions it seems this season which begs the question why did it take so long to figure this out?

on a positive note the Texans did sign Pitts to a long term contract and now he has shown the abiltiy to play LT and some suggest could be a franchise RT, since its clear now that Wade does not have the mobility because of his footwork and size to play that position. so here is the brilliant plan, use the top pick sweepstakes to gain additional future draft picks without dropping too far down that the Texans miss out on one of the two top LT's (Ferguson or Winston) and then when training camp begins have an open competition for LT to see if its going to be Pitts or the rookie, either way Pitts plays one of the tackle positions, then with the 2nd rd pick select a bad *** mauler G to solidify the offensive line, stockpiling draft picks to address multiple needs.

that would set once and for all the Texans offensive line woes, its been four miserable years of pass protection for David Carr, lets see what he can really do :ok:

I am sorry no matter whether Pitts plays good a tackle or not there are still holes on our O-line. I still say our #1 is an o-lineman and i dont understand how anyone can say otherwise or would want other wise. I dont understand Bush we have Davis and we just signed him to an extension it makes no sense. Then again the way we have been drafting.

I agree o-line is the top priority....just imagine what kind of numbers DD would have a good solid o-line:texflag:
