My,My,My. How things have changed....

I have been and will be one of the people who say that Carr can and will be a better than average NFL QB.
Sure, he isn't the all world QB that so many people presume that a certain other QB will surely be...
I take solice in the fact that other people... those with NUMEROUS years of NFL experience also think that DC is not a total waste.
Do I think that DC will be the best ever? hell no.
Do I think that he will make it to the pro bowl? Not sure, but I think he has a better than 50/50 chance.
Do I think he will lead us into the playoffs? Yes, I do.
Do I think that he will lead us to a SB? Man, the variables are so great that many great QBs never lead their teams to the big game, so I really don't know.
What I do know is that I will put my chips down on the side of the table with the people who have multiple years of NFL experience, and if I'm wrong, I'm wrong. So be it.

Nothing has changed...DC still had a rotten year and still has question marks.

Yup, only change is, now we have a new bunch of bouncing heads with grand schemes to turn the team and DC around. I hope it works out this time :)

16-43. That's all you need to know. He's awful. Handsome and well-spoken, but awful. VY is already a better quarterback.

Interesting all the Vince Young mentions, and it was months before his national championship victory. Dude definitely shows some powerful potential... :hmmm:

DISCLAIMER: Not a Carr love/hater. There are major question marks on DC right now, and nobody can really deny that. The only way he'll ever get that monkey off his back is to prove it wrong on the field. He's probably got about 32 games to show what he's got, and of course, I'm hoping he does simply because we just signed him to an $8 million/3 year deal.

What else you gonna' do? idonno:

New coach Gary Kubiak, meanwhile, raved about Carr again on Friday, saying his skills are ideal for the system he ran as the offensive coordinator in Denver the past 11 seasons. The Broncos ranked fifth in total offense in 2005.

Put me in a Nascar racer and I couln't make it out of the pits...put someone behind the wheel that knows how to drive it and we're talking a totally different story.

Anyone care to look at this thread for just a bit? It kinda made me laugh. On second thought, it made me laugh so hard I woke my little girl up. From three months ago Carr goes from that to what we have now.
There actually are several Teams that would pick up David Carr is a heart beat. Most coaches are high on him, love his potential and think he would be great if he got protection.

How good is Carr? I don't really know. He shows flashes of brilliance at times but with that O-line who can really tell. Most coaches in the NFL probably think they could make him a star QB. Don't believe all the Anti-Carr crack rock that John McClain is pushing. That guy has a strong Agenda.

I would HOPE that EVERY SINGLE person on this forum is pulling for him to do great. (That is if you are a Texans fan.)

Be sure to distinguish between a David Carr fan, and a Houston Texans fan.

Since it is most likely Carr is going to be Quarterbacking our team for the next few years and it is in our best interest for him to become successful, then yeah as a Texan Fan I'll root for him to succeed.

I agree. I too, think that Carr is a very good QB. Afterall, he's had to learn the one step drop and pass play. (or get dropped) I am really hoping that we can privide alot better protection for him this year. It goes without saying, or OL sucks! Carr is alot like the old Timex commercials. He takes a licking and keeps on ticking.:redtowel:

If anyone can turn Carr around into a quality NFL QB it will be Kubiak.

If Gary can't make a player out of Carr, then his is "spoiled goods". Carr can

count his lucky stars that the Texans got a ex-QB for a coach, otherwise, I

think he wuld have been a goner! :twocents:

Trade Carr now and get a low 1st rd'r or a high 2nd rd'r.
Trade Carr after another dismal season and we'd be lucky to a mid-range 3rd rd'r or even a mid-range 4th rd'r.

And as far my being a Texans fan and cheering for Carr if he stays, well lets just say that as a Texans fan I want a QB switch but........if he winds up staying and VY/Leinert/Cutler get away, I'll cheer for the team but I'll be the fan everyone hates, especially if we keep up the sub .500 stuff for the next 3 seasons.

All this pesimistic stuff you see from me, well let's just say I've been a Texans/Carr apologist since the inagural season but now I'm just fed up.

This year will be huge and we will see if all the coaching excuses seem valid. Not saying with a new coach it should be dramatic but I expect improvement. I'm still thinking we should have done 2 years but oh well, they love him. Hopefully he will improve greatly and make me eat crow.

Trust me, I'll be cheering my but off for David as soon as the season starts. That way, he'll be worth alot more, once Vince is ready to come off the bench.:yahoo:

This will be a very telling year for Carr. I want to see how he faces pressure to perform on and off the field. Hopefully, we will see some improvement under Coach Kubiak.

kbourda interesting points you've made, also off subject nice Boondocks avatar.

Hey thanks. I'm trying to switch up my Avs this month to celebrate Black History Month. The Boondocks is a very good show. I would suggest anyone to watch that show. Well, except children?!?! *lol*

I've said it before, and i'll say it again....all of my doubts/predictions in the offseason get left in the offseason for me....whether it be vince/reggie/somebody else, the second these fellows hit the field, they are all my texans, and im cheering for fantastic performances every game. Just know everytime i make a prediction thats negative about the future, i really really hope in my heart that im wrong.
