My interview with Kris Brown

NitroGSXR

Super Sic #58
It'll be posted on www.chron.com this week according to John McClain. We did this interview after the Dallas Cowboys game in which the Texans responded overwhelmingly to my plight with being lost at the training camp. Some of you guys are aware of this but for those that are not, I'll try and find the texanstalk link albeit, I'm not very good at finding this stuff.

Found it.

Anyway, this is me interviewing Kris Brown. That's my boy, Cage, in the background wearing the Andre Johnson jersey running across the field and my girlfriend is in the redshirt chasing him down. Cage was playing football with Kolby Brown who is Kris Brown's 4 year old son. It was just awesome seeing my boy play with his boy.

This interview is nothing spectacular but it definitely made the best of the night for me. That last question was all mine. Not canned. I loved his look when I said Now that Houston has a Qb....
:fans:

Actually, they missed the question. The caption said that I said... Now that Houston has a QB.... As a kicker, your point now that we have an effective QB How does that make you feel...

What I ACTUALLY said was that... Now that Houston has a QB... As a kicker your points totals will fall. How does that make you feel?

Yes, that's my older brother behind me at the end being a little TV whore trying to grab some TV time!

Very freaking awesome, Mike! Touchdowns are better than field goals indeed! Looks like you guys had a blast.

Also - I just read the old thread about your bad experience, and I'm very impressed by how everyone rallied around to help out. Nice work Texan Nation!

I have a request though. I have absolutely no idea what Anna-Megan said. She... ahem... neglected to caption her part.

I found it hilarious that they captioned my part for the hearing people but what about me? LOL!!!!! THOUSANDS of Deaf people will watch this interview. It's being put out through the Center for Special Disabilites which has a nationwide network of virtually hundreds of thousands of Deaf people.

Can someone oblige? I'm going nuts! I wanna know what she said in MY interview!!??

"Hi I'm Anna Megan and back again with yet another player interview. But this time I step out of the camera's view, and a very delightful fan Mike Easly steps in to do the interview. He's deaf, and he's been deaf his entire life but it hasn't stopped him from being a Texans fan. Last season he met Kris Brown and he found out that Kris Brown signs too. So join me now as Mike Easly interviews Kris Brown and his wife Amy."

(Is it Easly? or is it Kingsley?)

Keathley. Pronounced Keith-lee.

MUCH OBLIGED! Rep your way!

That is kind of sad and funny that they didn't bother to caption the first part. wtf?

Hey, hope to meet you at 3rd Base if you end up going back there. I know you had issues with the CC, so I hope it works out.

I will have the issue fixed this Sunday at thirdbase. It is just up to who ever gets there first to have it setup in advance. So I am to blame last Sunday, I sorta head my head on the game the food and talking to BigWig and his little girl.

Who was completely awsome and Laura our waitress went way above anything she had to do to keep Tatiana occupied and to keep her from being bored.

The interview was great Mike, it looked like Kris was real rusty on his signing.

Wow, I had no idea about any of this. I read the thread you referenced above and almost couldn't believe the story, all of the things that went wrong on your trips. I would have been just as frustrated as you, not only did you put in that effort and have to be disappointed and disheartened, but it rips my heart out when my children get jipped like that. But your peseverance paid off in a very big way! That must have been cool meeting Kris Brown and getting to go onto the field. Good going and congrats.

I am really glad the Texans took the time to make this right.

Nitro, that was awesome!!

I have wondered why you haven't posted that often since that incident at practice. Silly me, you're out there doing interviews..

Again, that was awesome and congratulations!!! :texflag:

The Texans did not only take the time to make this right but they went the extra mile. You see.. they didn't break any laws because they adhered to it but only the bare minimum of the law. Basically they did not have to do ANY of this but they did.

I actually feel bad though because I was not able to uphold my end to the Texans. See, I registered to be on the waiting list for season tickets and never heard anything so... almost 7 or 8 months had passed before that unfortunate practice incident. I made the post on Texanstalk and word got out and they IMMEDIATELY issued some tickets for me... I didn't have the money at that time. I mean it was 1300 bucks! I asked for some time in order for me to gather the money up and I got up to like 1150. One more payday and I would have it all. I made all the arrangements with Blake Steadman to meet on that Friday before the KC game...

*sigh*

I screwed up. I didn't balance my checkbook correctly and my girlfriend's truck threw a rod on the way to Houston. I ended up having to use that money to fix the truck. The combination of the two resulted in us having debit card swipes bounce and the fees just snowballed and we found ourselves in a huge hole. It's been an extremely rough month. I found myself having to work at Labor Ready. If you don't know what that is, then good for you! You don't want to know!

I couldn't bring myself to tell Blake that I couldn't do this. I was ashamed. I screwed up. Me. Nobody else. I couldn't man up to it. I couldn't respond back to Blake. I know. Shame on me.

You know what they did? Lance Cavazos got in touch with me last week and wondered what happened to me. I didn't tell him the full story but basically that it was not going to happen this year. He immediately sent me 2 jerseys, 2 shirts, two caps, two watches, two notebooks, several pens and pencils, cups, and so on and on. I would estimate the total package to be about 400 bucks. I don't know what to say.

I failed my end of the bargain yet they kept on trucking. They did not have to do ANY of this. Not one iota. Tremenous. Tremenous. You should be proud of your Houston Texans. I know I am.

This is one reason why I haven't really been posting too much on the board lately. I guess I'm embarrassed. Sorry. Thanks to all that tried to help by contacting the Texans and everything. You guys rock and I'm very proud to be a member of this group.

alright at the risk of sounding gay, uhmm that kinda brought a tear to my eye

I guess that also makes me proud to be a TEXAN

:texan:

p.s. Nitro no reason to feel ashamed about things that happen outside your control. I've been there and done that. I remember my days of no job and getting up to labor ready at 4 in the morning to try and make a dollar. It makes me glad to know you're more of a man than most are.
