Love ya Gma! I certainly understand your frustration, but please don't let them cause your leaving the board. It's been bad, and it will get worse, but that's life, and you have dealt with whiney babies for a long time now.

Gma thank you and everyone else in Blue Crew for the hospitality during the first game this year. You guys made me and my son feel very welcome. I hate to see you not around here, but after seeing some of the posts lately I definitely understand. Take care! Let me know if you need anything AC related!!!!

Take care Gma. I know the feeling. I have gotten to where I stay away from the Texans Talk section myself. Too much drama, and people flipping out on other people's opinions.

Grandma, that's exactly why I have hardly posted anything on here for 2 years now... I think I actually get on the site once every 3 or 4 weeks during the season and maybe every 3 or 4 months off season.

Sometimes it's just not worth the headache... :slapfight:

Sandy, love you sweetheart. I certainly understand your viewpoint. I have been very disappointed with TexansTalk over the last few weeks. I will probably continue to stick around and read, like I have been for the last few months, but not posting much.

The name calling and way everyone feels the need to tell each other what to think and how to behave is getting to me. People being different is what makes the world go round, but apparently not in football cyberspace. Here, it is absolutely vital that everyone feel exactly as you do on any given issue. (insert sarcasm smiley here)

Seriously though, I agree. Way too many cyber "bad-asses" as of late. Hopefully many of them will drop off (and good riddance) during the offseason.

I'll keep up with you on FB. I feel your frustration. I haven't been on here very much at all the last 6 weeks, and I have enjoyed the break. With the new job responsibilities kicking in now, I'll be even busier. I'll check in from time to time and maybe post here and there, but I am taking a LOT of time away.
 
Even though Bob didn't do what I would have done , it's not my team . Oh well come on draft .

This reminds me of the RC Slocum days at A&M . It was the old Aggies vs the new Aggies in a verbal slug fest . The old Aggies liked RC ... thought he was a good man and looked after his players ... the new Aggies were just about the wins . The new Aggies forced RC to get fired and they are just now getting back to where they were . The point is not about someone getting fired or winning , it's about burning bridges because of this stuff .

The local radio loves this because negativity sells . If the Texans would have hired Gruden or Cowher .... their would be no callers . :worldpeace:

:lol: Some jack-hole on YOUTUBE actually told me in real life he was a 6'4 power lifter with a 4th degree black belt! This was after calling me an "ignorant man whore" or something. I pointed out that most power lifting, blackbelts don't use terms like "man-whore."

There was this fishing board at one time that was pretty Cool.

You pretty much knew everyone and everyone got along..even when they didn't agree.

Then one day there was this "chick" (No..her name is not Steph) and she was up eveyone's arse. That was the first time I ever thought to myself, "Who TF is this biatch?" And now she's some kinda big shot on the web nowadays? Lonely is what she really is...lol

That place became like a small town. There were people I liked, people I loved, people I don't know, people I don't care for and people I wouldn't piss on if they were on fire.

Personally...I think the dipshits make us look smart and feel pretty.

I hate to read you're leaving, Gma. :( Hopefully it's just a temporary break until the storm blows over.

Passion has a funny way of turning when things get down. I think a lot of Houston football fans are just frustrated and are venting on the boards and airwaves. When I wear a Texans hat or shirt, I'm always prepared for some random stranger at Target, Subway, wherever, to approach me these days to ***** about the team.

Just like a winning team can unite fans all over the city, a losing team tends to divide folks.

But, I think we're in the heat of the moment right now and things will cool down once the coaching changes are made and the draft gets closer. And I think everyone's cup will be filled with fresh koolaide by next September.

Anyway, just wanted to post my brain droppings and tell you that you are always appreciated more than you'll probably ever realize. Thanks again for your generosity and hospitality at both All Access and your tailgate. You are a valued asset to the Texans fan base, even if they have a strange way of expressing it sometimes.

I will say that I have seen some serious ugliness towards other posters here lately. That part of the message board is seriously off putting to me. Unfortunately for the ones who hate me and call me names, I will be sticking around.

I grew up outside of Pasadena but spent a lot of time there . The Pasadena Plaza , Sears and Wyats off Southmore , The High School Stadium off Burke , I've even been to Gilley's .

My mom still lives just blocks away from where Gilley's used to be. My actual address was Houston growing up, but it was the border along Allen Genoa off of 225 near the ship channel (man, when that north wind blew, the stink was just nasty!). Me and my metalhead friends were tempted to take a leak on the Gilleys site, but we were still scared of Sherwood Crier. Went to school with one of his daughters and knew a bit about him, so hitting that hornet's nest was a strong deterrent to 'paying our respects' to Gilleys. ;)

But always attended Pasadena schools, and the folks ended up moving after my freshman year as PHS. I then went through the culture shock of a blue collar family moving in with the uppity crowd at Rayburn.

I am very familiar with all the places you mentioned. I wore a lot of clothes from that Sears and Wieners on Southmore. My junior high jazz band played at the ribbon cutting of the Pasadena Plaza, and I've played many times at the stadium on Burke.

I don't get back to Pasadena much these days, but every time I go I'm amazed at how much has changed. The Fairmont corridor exploded the past 10-15 years! Used to be nothing but fields but now it's full on suburbia and strip malls.

I went to Red Bluff Elementary back in 1976 and 1977!!! I rode the bull at Gilley's when I was about 6 years old. I remember that well. A good looking chick held my hand and it moved as slow as possible. I grew up in a beer joint my step dad owned off I-10 and McCarty Dr. We were all over the east and southeast side growing up...

I used to work at that power plant off Light Company Rd . I guess from 82 to 88 . If you jumped on Old Galveston and drove about 10 miles south , that's where I grew up .

I had to sing Christmas carols at the Pasedena Plaza in 5th grade . We had a Weingartens and a Monkey Wards there also . My parents liked to go to Wyats cafeteria on payday and then walk around Woolworths . Then they put an Oshman's in when I was about 13 ... yeah .

We were told that Rayburn and Parkview were the rich kids and that one day we'd probably work for them . That's how they got us up for games . I know some Rayburn guys , some Dobie guys to .

I knew a few people from Red Bluff Elementary at PHS. We were in school around the same time (I'm 43 so a few years ahead). I went to Garfield elementary on transfer, as the folks didn't want us to be 'latch key kids' at that age, so we ended up at a daycare every day after school until mom could get off work and rescue us.

Cool story about the bull! Those were the days, and I remember the buzz around town when "Urban Cowboy" was being filmed. Then it was years of folks coming from all over the country to visit Gilleys.

I remember reading that story about Sherwood! After reading it I realized that all the stories I was told as a kid about him were true!

Funny about Rayburn and Parkview (my younger sis went there). I adapted pretty quick and was fortunate to meet a lifelong friend across the street from our new home. We started a rock band right away, and since he was a really nice guy and popular (his older bro was a football star at the school), I got to ride his coattails a little bit. My sister always resented being at Rayburn, though, and would hang out with the trashy crowd just to piss off the folks. Good times, man. :D

All the cool kids got to wear their dessert boots and Ocean Pacific stuff, but I was still stuck with Weiners and Sears clothes. yep, it went back years. He stopped posting there because of all the drama.

That's why I appreciate this forum so much. We have a great owner in Hookem, great admins, a solid moderation team, and of course, tons of great members. There is a balance here that sometimes gets a little wobbly - mainly directly related to the trials and tribulations of the Texans - but in the long run it's a great place.

Which is why I hate to see a member like Gma go, but hopefully it's just a break for some rest and she comes back recharged soon.
