My 2010 1st Round Mock Draft

1.Detroit-DT- Ndamukong Suh
Their biggest need is QB and they may go with Bradford or Clausen who i think is the better player coming out of a pro style offense and can make all the throws but so far he hasnt risen into this discussion.
Plus i think St Louis would get major backlash if they dont take Suh so i think they end up taking him. Its not like they dont need defense either as besides Chris Long they have nothing special.

2.Detroit-DT-Gerald McCoy
Detroit is called the motor city because running backs drive right past their defense every sunday. Theyd love to have Suh but McCoy is a huge upgrade as well.

3.Tampa Bay-S-Eric Berry
Tampa would love to ge their hands on Suh as well or even McCoy but Berry in my opinion is the best propsect in the draft, a guy in the Troy Polamalu mold a guy you have to account for on every snap.
Him and Tanard Jackson will give Tampa an intimidating presence for receivers in the secondary.

4.Washington-QB-Jimmy Clausen
Shanahan's teams thrive on great QB play and this pick comes down to his comfort level in Jason Campbell. If he thinks he can turn him around they will probably go LT Russell OKung if not i think he gets his guy
in Clausen or Bradford. I give them Clausen because he comes from a west coast pro style offense and i think he'd be great in Shanahans offense.

5.Kansas City-OT-RUssell Okung
They need to protect Matt Cassels backside and this allows them to move Branden ALbert to the right side allowing them to strengthen their line at 2 positions.

6.Seattle-QB-Sam Bradford
Hasselbecks play fell off considerably and Carroll has no ties to him so i think he gets his guy in Bradford as long as he checks out medically.

7.Cleveland-CB-Joe Haden
I think this is Haden or DE Derrick Morgan but considering what Revis is doing to WRs a shutdown corner can impact a defense profoundly. Haden has the best tools to be one in this class.

8.Oakland-OT-Bruce Campbell
Al Davis loves speed and Campbell is a athletic freak for an OT. They need the line help but dont be surprised if it turns out to be S Taylor Mays who's 40 time may make Davis jizz himself.

9.Buffalo-OT-Anthony Davis
Buffalo needs alot especially QB but with both top prospects off the board i give them what they also need an OT. Davis has alot of potential and tackles are a premium on draft day.

10.Jacksonville-DE-Derrick Morgan
I was tempted to give them Tim Tebow but i think they may get him in the 2nd round. The Jags cant get sacks. Everybody they sign or draft never work but that doesnt mean they should stop trying. Morgan
is the top rated player on the board. DE Jason Pierre Paul from South Florida may alo be a possiblity.

11.Denver-WR-Dez Bryant
With McDaniels becoming fed up with Brandon Marshall and probably seeking to trade him they will need another top flight WR. Bryant fits that bill rather nicely.

12.Miami-Rolando McClain
Miami could go DT here with Brian Price or Dan Williams but McClain is the top LB in this class and frankly the rest of their Lbs are not very good. When you run the 3-4 you need good Lbs and McClain is very good.

13.San Francisco-S-Earl Thomas
With Michael Lewis not working out they could look for a new safety and Thomas is a damn good one. DE Jason Pierre Paul could be considered as a rush linebacker if they want to ass pass rush.

14.Seattle-S-Taylor Mays
Carroll might want to go with what he knows so this pick could be Mays or DE Everson Griffen. They need help at both spots.

15.New York Giants-DE-Jason Pierre-Paul
DT Chris Canty was a free agent bust and Osi Uymenura hasnt played up to par the last 2 years. Getting back to what made their D successful(pass rush) is a priority. DT Brian Price may be considered as wel

16.San Francisco-OT-Bryan Bulaga
Buluga probably wont be a left tackle in this league but he could be a hell of a guard or right tackle. Singletary preaches the running game and opening more holes for Gore helps.
Everson Griffen and Sergio Kindle could be the choice as well.

17.Tennessee-DT-Brian Price
Tennessee's defense took a major plunge once Fat Al left and will look to retool it. Price is a good pass rush from the DT spot and may bring a little of what Fat Al used to.

18.Pittsburgh-DT-Dan Williams
Casey Hampton is getting up there in years and it may be time to start looking for an heir to groom. OLB Sergio Kindle and DE Everson Griffen are options as well.

19.Atlanta-DE-Everson Griffen
Atlanta needs corner help and pass rush and with no corner currently worth taking here they take the best DE left in Griffen. DE Jamal Anderson was a huge bust. Could reach for a guy like CB Patrick Robinson or CB Donovan Warren.

20.Houston-G-Mike Iupati
This guy is a monster with an attitude and our interior line needs a guy like him to open holes when we need those tough yards. Its not a sexy pick but the Ravens a few years back selected G Ben Grubbs
in the 1st round and now look at their run game. Cj Spiller would be mighty enticing with him on the board but even he with his speed he cant run anywhere if there is no hole or guys are in the backfield
before he gets going.

21.Cincinnati-TE-Jermaine Gresham
Carson Palmer needs some weapons to work with and most certainly a security blanket like Gresham. Jermaine Gresham was hurt all last year but when healthy gives his QB a huge target to throw to.

22.New England-OLB-Sergio Kindle
New Englands defense is nowhere near its championship run of years past(Not having other teams on video hurts too. zing!) This selection looks to be a pass rusher or in the secondary. Other options include OLB Navorro Bowman, OLB Jerry Hughes
and CB Patrick Robinson. A wild card is QB Tim Tebow. Belichek loves versatile players and Tebow just seems like a Patriot doesnt he?

23.Green Bay-DE-Carlos Dunlap
Aaron Kampman may leave in free agency and they would need a replacement. Carlos Dunlap is an underachiver with character issues but his talent cannot be ignored. Green Bay may roll the dice on the prospect
as at this point he presents great value.

24.Philadelphia-DE-Brandon Graham
Andy Reid loves to stock up in the tranches and Graham gives all out effort all the time and can be a force on Phillys D-Line.

25.Baltimore-WR-Golden Tate
Joe Flacco like Caron Palmer needs weapons. His lack of a #2 WR has really hurt this offense. Golden Tate is just what the doctor ordered. He is a great deep threat who wins most jump ball battles and is
a terror after the catch. Flacco might even shave his unibrow if he gets a weapon like Tate.

26.Arizona-TE-Aaron Hernandez
Last year the Cardinals upgraded the run game with Beanie WElls and this year they give Kurt Warner(or Matt Leinart if Warner retires) a target over the middle in Hernandez. Its the only piece missing on offense.

27.Dallas-OLB-Jerry Hughes
Keith Brooking had a great year but he's getting up their in age and will need to be replaced sooner or later. Jerry Hughes is a beast off the edge and him and DeMarcus Ware along with Anthony
Spencer give Dallas a vaunted pash rush.

28.San Diego-RB-Jahvid Best
LT had an amazing run but its time he gets shipped off to the glue facotry because he cant run anymore. Jahvid Best has home run hitting ability on every play and can really run between the tackles.

29.New York Jets-WR-Damian Williams
Sir Drops Alot Braylon Edwards may not be back next year and Sanchez needs weapons in the passing game.Him and Damian Williams had a great rapport at USC and would give Sanchez a weapon he can trust
to catch the damn ball.

30. Minnesota-CB-Patrick Robinson
Minnesota doesnt need much but their secondary could use a bit of shoring up.

31.New Orleans-DT-Jared Odrick
New Orleans doesnt need much either so perhaps they stock up on the D-Line. A guy like WR Brandon LaFell would be a luxury pick but would just add to their sick arsenal of offensive weapons.

32. Indianapolis-DE-Greg Hardy
Typical Colts guy. Hardy is a speed rusher off the edge in the Freeney-Mathis mold.

1.Detroit-DT- Ndamukong Suh

Absolutely the best mock I have seen! Someone call the NFL and get this guy a job.

Thanks for the effort

Well thought out

There is a good chance Pittsburgh takes Iupati. They need help on the OL in the worst way.

I have Dunlop rated above Griffin but still a great choice.

San Diego will probably draft Spiller instead of Best. Less of an injury concern, I dont know where but I can garuntee you a weapon like Spiller goes somewhere in the 1st rd.

After watching Arizonas defense get torched in the playoffs it is more likely that they go defense in the 1st rd. Probably a DE like Hardy or a CB Robinson.

This is one of the best mock I've seen. I think you nailed the 1st 15-20 picks without trades. With trades I still see most of those going in those spots in some form or fashion.

Good work

I'm shocked Spiller slips out of the first, especially when you posted in my pre-senior bowl mock
I like Spiller or Jahvid Best. Both are really fast guys.

Spiller is more of an all around threat running, catching, returning while Best has better vision as a runner.

otherwise comparing the two it's pretty close, although I see Iupati going after Texans pick.

I didnt think so either but as i was doing it i couldnt find a spot for him besides Houston and San Diego and i went with Best for San Diego because he's a Cal guy and they may know more about him.

I dont think he slips out of the 1st round but he seems like a luxury pick. Not many teams need a running back and even those who do usually wait until later to pick one up.
