if we move up in the draft, package a 1 and 2 for a 1st pick before cardinals choose at 5, should we stop talkin about quinn coming here and dumping carr. avoid the running backs, wide recievers, the fancy players of the 1st round and draft what we all know we need sooooo much.

We should def. take the lions or browns pick and select joe thomas of wisconson and solidify the LT that will keep carr on his ass, open holes for ahman, and buy time for carr to hook up with andre.

lets rethink last year with the jets and dbrickashaw - they made the playoffs.
marcus mcneill drafted by san diego - helped LT greatly.

this pick will change the team SO MUCH.
 
I really like Joe Thomas. BUT, there are only two player worth giving up extra picks to move up and select (Calvin Johnson and Adrain Peterson). Joe Thomas is a solid top 5 pick, but not a top 5 pick and 2nd round pick. He would definitely be a great pick if you used a top 10 first pick on him though.
 
i def. know what you mean, but i mean it solidify's a 10year starter for us (hope with no injuries of course) and real bolsters that line greatly. we cant have these 3rd round tackle picks and hope for the best.
 
I know your not going to like this BUT......have you heard the old saying there's allway next year. J. Thomas is a gifted player that is not in question he is the real deal, but next years draft is going to have three or four JT's to pick from OLT is deeeeeep, as will be QB at least 4 top QB's in next years draft. Thomas is just not worth a 1st AND 2nd Rounder. IMHO.
 
That's the problem we have right now. We have holes at 5 or more positions. We need all of the picks we can get. I would love to have any of the players that have been discussed that may be there at #8 (Landry, Peterson, Quinn, etc.), but I really would like to trade down, select at player like Brown, Kali, or Nelson and pick up an extra pick in the 2nd or 3rd.

All I'm saying is IMO we have two many needs and giving up a 2nd rounder is basicly shoting your self in the big toe when you don't have too. Levi Brown is a option that I would rather face. In most mocks he is the second tackle off the board get him at 8 and our O-line "COULD" look like this.
Spencer-Pitts-Flanagin-Winston-Brown
Brown-Pitts-Flanagin-Weary-Winston
Salaam-Pitts-McKinney-Winston-Brown
Brown is the player to target at 8 if we pick Off. Most profiles I've read say the same thing. "Brown has played LT for N.D. but may strugle at the position at the next level, but could excel as a RT in the NFL" Salaam is a good stop gap measure for short term, Spencer is up in the air due to injury, Brown MIGHT excel at LT the only way your going to know is to try him out, J. Black was signed in FA so you now have him in the mix.
As far as the Carr lover's "whine" and Carr bashers "whine" it's never going to go away IMO even if we get rid of Carr the next QB that comes in and takes the beatings will be compared to David. If the next QB comes in and puts wins on the board all the "I told you so's" will fill novels on the Board, while all the "lovers" will counter with "what could have been" if DC had a line and RB. This argument will never go away no matter what is done.IMO

If we move up and draft Joe Thomas, that will be yet another blown first round pick in my mind, especially if CJ is there when we take Thomas.
