Most overused NFL Draft phrases?

"once in a lifetime" just means absurd abilities that you don't see very often. just because you may see one in repeat years doesn't mean they're still not ridiculously talented.

Yeah, but if you see those sorts of abilities (or commensurate abilities) 40-50 times in your lifetime, then it's really not "once in a lifetime." I mean, in my lifetime I've seen: Gale Sayers, OJ Simpson, Earl Campbell, Tony Dorsett, Emmitt Smith, Marshall Faulk, Eric Dickerson, LaDanian Tomlinson, Thurman Thomas, Barry Sanders, Walter Payton, etc., etc. And every year there's a McFadden, Adrian Peterson, Reggie Bush, Ricky Williams, etc., who's a once in a lifetime back.

The phrase is flawed or used too liberally.

Have you seen that commercial where some people are at a boring work conference and they make up bingo cards with buzzwords. And then when the speaker says one of the words, the person marks it off until they get a Bingo.

We should do that with Draft Catchphrases while watching the draft programs this year.

i've never heard that about ANY quarterback, especially harrington and carr, who had TONS of criticism and doubters. perhaps you only talked to homer Texans and Lions fans.

He was on a roll. Never get in the way of a post DC era rant.

What I remebered about that draft was DC kneeling at the fifty and putting the ball through the goal post. He had the best arm in the class. He also posted a 4.7 in the forty.

And the wifes tale about taking the franchise QB #1 is just that a wives tale. The only thing you do by taking the pick of the litter at QB is reduce the bust factor. But they all bust. First round second round, they all have the potential to bust out. Even Ryan and Woodson this year.

No, that was straight from the mouth of Mel Kiper. He said something like "Four years from now we are going to look back and neither of these quarterbacks are going to be busts."

Somebody had posted a link to the video on here not too long ago.

Did you watch it all the way through to the point where Kiper says "THere's no way we look back in 4 years and say these guys were busts"? Cause, I have a feeling you didn't.

I'm glad I'm not the only one. There are certain color guys also...I just turn the sound off now. Maybe I got spoiled as a young'un. Every thing NBC and NFLn did for the live gmes was just wrong. I wanna listen to a maxist, I'll pick up a copy of a john Lennon CD. I want baby food in jar, I'll go get it at the store. It hurt my ears to listen to their brodcasts.
