Moss gets $10K fine for moon

Apparently the cost of pretending to moon a group of cheeseheads has its price.

FOXSports.com has learned the league has fined Vikings wide receiver Randy Moss $10,000 for his controversial taunt of the Lambeau crowd this weekend.

After scoring a fourth-quarter touchdown Moss pretended to drop his pants, moon the crowd and then rubbed his backside against the goalpost.

The league didn't want to hit Moss with a major fine or suspension out of concern that such a move would simply bring more attention to an ugly incident, one that NFL execs hope just goes away.

Oh Bullsh*t!

The league didn't want to hit Moss with a major fine or suspension out of concern that such a move might send a message that they really didn't want him to do it. This whole Moss mooning/overreaction controversy has the NFL laughing their sweet asses off all the way to the bank.

I'll bet the Vikings/Eagles game will draw higher ratings than the Indy/Patriots game this weekend, strictly because of what Moss did. They'll want to see if Randy will pull more of his antics, and they'll want to see if Joe Buck will climb back onto his high horse, in between all of those erectile dysfunction commercials.

The hypocrisy of it all is laughable.
 
Exactly. If they wanted Moss to stop it, they could make him. But thats the thing, they dont want him to stop. I think they love the boost it gives the games. Something to talk about all week long in between games.
 
Someone told me that some of the GB fans moon the opposing team as they get off/on the busses. I'm not sure about this info, it's the first I've ever heard of this kind of behavior (Any cheese heads want to put some light on this feel free) but it does make for a convincing reason why he choose to moon the crowd. Kinda like a "whos laughing now" remark.
 
That is only a handful of fans that do that. It's not as if 70K fans wait for the bus and moon the Vikings. The situations aren't amalgous at all. If Moss had waited for these aprticular fans, and mooned them from the bus, I would be fine with that. But, this was an obscene gesture in front of the entire crowd, not to mention those of us at home. I think the 10k is about right myself. It sends a signal that it is frowned upon, while also ackowledging that it isn't the end of the world.

Its only Randy Moss doing that. Its not as if the whole team waited to score a TD and then moon the crowd.

I think this has been blown way out of proportion. And im sick of it.
