That's the first mock I've seen with Abiamiri in the first round.

I dont see Russell falling to 14 but I dont know where he could go earlier in this mock, so thats not a big problem with me.

Everything else looks solid.

I was a little surprised myself that Russell fell that far, but it was hard to find anyone else before there that would take him, although likely someone would trade up in there. I don't think at this point that Miami would take him, they have two former top-11 picks at QB and a brand new coach that hasn't worked with either, so I don't know that he'd bail on both of them already, and I think Quinn is definitely more of Cam Cameron's type of QB.

As for Abiamiri, I didn't really know what to give the Ravens there, and he reminds me a decent amount of Adalius Thomas as he can play OLB in a 3-4 set or DE and even OLB in a 4-3 set as well, so if they lose Thomas to free agency I think Abiamiri could be an intriguing prospect for them.

My latest mock (1st round only):

1. Raiders- WR Calvin Johnson, Georgia Tech
2. Lions- OT Joe Thomas, Wisconsin
3. Browns- QB Brady Quinn, Notre Dame
4. Buccaneers- DT Alan Branch, Michigan
5. Cardinals- DE Jamaal Anderson, Arkansas
6. Redskins- DE Gaines Adams, Clemson
7. Vikings- WR Dwayne Jarrett, USC
8. Texans- RB Adrian Peterson, Oklahoma
9. Dolphins- QB JaMarcus Russell, LSU
10. Falcons- S Reggie Nelson, Florida
11. 49ers- DT Amobi Okoye, Louisville
12. Bills- MLB Patrick Willis, Mississippi
13. Rams- DE Adam Carriker, Nebraska
14. Panthers- OLB Paul Posluszny, Penn State
15. Steelers- OG Justin Blalock, Texas
16. Packers- RB Marshawn Lynch, California
17. Jaguars- OLB Lawrence Timmons, Florida State
18. Bengals- TE Zach Miller, Arizona State
19. Titans- DE LaMarr Woodley, Michigan
20. Giants- CB Leon Hall, Michigan
21. Broncos- CB Daymeion Hughes, California
22. Cowboys- S Michael Griffin, Texas

32. Colts- CB Aaron Ross, Texas

What do you think?

can't fault you for another outstanding effort. you have Peterson worthy of the #1 pick, yet falling into the Texans lap- that should play well into the local sentiment. Jamaal Anderson must be a favorite of yours, being a possible #2 pick thru #10 & settling @ #5. how does he rate next to Mario Williams as a pro de prospect? JaMarcus Russell who you must not like, rating him as a possible #1 overall pick yet slipping to #14. I'm not even going to mention LB. I thought you would have Adam Carriker going higher, but upon further reflection this draft is shaping up to be deeper than most thought. once again nice job with only a few objections (would'nt have it any other way).

I am enjoying the new link you provided however http://www.mymockdraft.com/MockReview.aspx?mid=932 keep it up :)

I am with you on picks 1-4 from a need perspective and actually from a player standpoint at those positions although I have not seen Wright. If Kalil and Meriweather are both available at this pick that is a good thing for Texans' nation.

I've heard that JaMarcus Russell will not fall past Cleveland because Phil Savage is a Mobile, AL guy, has had JaMarcus at his camp in Mobile for several years and will draft him with the opportunity.

thats interesting insight, that would mean Quinn falls, but just how far?

Wright isn't my favorite, looking back I probably would have taken Wade over him but I don't know. Wade reminds me a little of Philip Buchanon in that he's a great athlete but isn't very physical at all.

I'm also not all that fond of taking Trent Edwards, but I think it would be a strong possibility if he's available there.

I think they'd take Quinn over Russell but at this point who knows. For that matter, I think a lot of the teams near the top of the draft would prefer Quinn to Russell.

Mork, that was a cool site, and I may make my own mock later today, but I was not particuarly fond of our picks. I see no reason for picking Wright or Edwards. I would count those as wasted picks for our team if they were to happen next year. I won't argue with AD, though I feel we could do better. I love Merriwether in the 2nd.

For what it is worth, probably just smoke;

Browns | Team interested in Russell?
Sun, 11 Feb 2007 06:15:07 -0800

Tony Grossi, of the Cleveland Plain Dealer, reports Cleveland Browns owner Randy Lerner reportedly told a local television station that he would like to select LSU QB JaMarcus Russell with the team's No. 1 pick in April's NFL Draft.

They have also let it be known they want AP.
