For the guys putting mocks together, you might want to consider that the Lions' Kevin Jones is probably out at least half of next season. That's could put them into the market for a RB, either through FA or the draft.

That might remove AD a lot sooner than a lot of people were expecting.

thats a good point. wonder if Millen would give up a 2nd rounder for San Diego RB Michael Turner? he could trade down for the extra 2nd it would take too, that would really foul the mock drafts up. taking AP would also be an option :bubble:

I've got a question:

How does the 3rd round work?

Cincinnati has to forfeit its 3rd rounder for selecting Ahmad Brooks in the supplemental draft.

Does that mean that there are only 31 selections in that round?

Correct, although there will likely be a compensatory pick or two at the end of the round. I expect the Chargers will receive a 3rd round compensatory pick for losing Drew Brees to free agency last year, and I think it is likely that the Ravens could also receive a 3rd round pick for losing Chester Taylor, he put up as good if not better stats than LaMont Jordan the previous year when the Jets got a 3rd round pick for losing him.

As for the original post, I've heard Jones is expected to be ready, and even still I don't think they'd take Peterson. I think they'd look for a veteran or pick up a later round guy. A quick question though, for those people that are claiming Marshawn Lynch is better than Peterson, why isn't he in the discussions at all for the Lions picking at #2, especially since he has better hands than AP and that is definitely a key to their offense?

Lions sources said they now expect to lose running back Kevin Jones for at least half the 2007 season due to the Lisfranc injury he suffered in December that required surgery on his left foot three days later.
