What's the Vikes record again this yr?
I bet they end up 8-8/9-7.
They're 2-1 now. Bears, Giants, Eagles, Lions coming up.
Why so down on the Vikings?

I really thought Kirk Cousins would excel in Kubiak's offense.
Interesting article on Kubiak's Viking offense. It discusses a lot of his offense in general. Here is an excerpt.
"The recurring theme in Kubiak’s career has been his ability to manufacture top 10 offensives with decent, but not great quarterbacks: Matt Schaub in Houston, Joe Flacco in Baltimore, the Remains of Peyton Manning in Denver. And with top QBs like Young in 1994 and Elway in the late 90s, among the very best in the league.
He’s also been able to get top production out of a number of backs, from Terrell Davis and Mike Anderson in Denver, to Steve Slaton and Arian Foster in Houston, to Justin Forsett in Baltimore and to a lesser extent CJ Anderson in Denver.
All tolled, Kubiak has had a top ten (or better) offense in points and/or yards in 16 of his 22 years as either offensive coordinator or head coach. Take away his early years in Houston, when he had next to nothing for talent, and his record looks even better."
They are pretty close in the regular season. Where Kubiak pulls way out in front is his post season record.Yep, the Vikings offense looks great this yr.
Despite all of Kubiaks offensive prowess, he a true conservative Aggie which has lead him to be a little above.500 HC. Just like BOB'S conservative style has lead to a barely above, .500 record.

Kubiak has all the tools to put out a great offense.
Interesting that Diggs already wants out.
Offense is great but both Vikings WR are complaining; one basically asking for a trade and the other calling out the QB publicly. Doesn’t sound like a great offense.
Kubiak is a helluva taskmaster
Great RB: Check
Great WR's: (Diggs/Thielen) Check
Strong Oline: Check
QB: Check
I refuse to believe that Kubiak can't work with the talent of Kirk Cousins especially if young Shanny did. Kubiak needs to figure it out. It isn't like he's working with Kirk Cousins and a ton of shitty weapons that aren't helping.

& a Super Bowl. Kubiak won a Super Bowl as a HC.
And still was an avg HC.
What's your point?
My point is he's just like BO'b plus a great OC & a Super Bowl winning coach, OC & HC. That's all.
Not really a good comparison. Their time here sure... but overall, not so much.

Kubiak is doing it again
After a near meltdown of the offensive players
Kubiak is doing it again
One game means he's doing it again?
Wouldn't you have to abandon all of your complaints you've made about OB then based on that notion?
Maybe they're getting on a roll, but they have way more to go to suggest that Kubiak hasn't turned their offense around. If that's the case, then O'Brien is doing it again too. And I'm certainly not about to suggest that.
Kubiak is in year 1, O'Brien is in year 6.
Vikings have the 5th ranked offense after ranking 18 last year.
Texans are ranked 13th

I don't know what you mean by ranked, but I don't go by rankings at all if you're using the NFL's rankings which uses a bunch of useless stats that don't amount to zilch. Points are what determine what an offense can do unless the defense is scoring a lot of their points.
I'm not suggesting that OB is a good coach at all on offense. Quite the opposite actually.
I was challenging your statement that he is doing it again. Doing what exactly? His offense was trash in Denver right after it was breaking records everywhere the year before, and always ran into problems in Houston as well once it got going and was pretty good. It took him several years to create a good offense here as well. Some of that was due to QB injuries to be fair, but as a HC he doesn't have this legendary history from an offensive standpoint.
He did have a very good year in Baltimore in between the Texans and the Broncos as OC. I'll give him that. Flacco had his best statistical regular season under Kubiak.
But we’re just 2 years in on a 3 year rebuild. Give it time. The Vikings offense is already better than the Texans offense
The Vikings' offensive line is winning the battle early and often today. They just put together what might be their most impressive drive of the season -- 15 plays, 97 yards, converting on a trio of third downs on their way to the go-ahead score. Lots of Dalvin Cook -- six of those 15 plays for 32 yards, including the touchdown. They're also using a lot more play-action than I remember them using in September,

Imagine Watson in this play action offense. It would be nuts

I've never been high on Cousins … He just isn't a good decisionmaker nor is he highly "accurate".
Yeah , he can "make all the throws" … but that's just one piece to the QB puzzle.
I'd take "Good Schaub" , as physically limited as he was over Cousins.
Cousins reminds me of HWWNBM.
Should be noted that kubiak didn't choose cousins, who they acquired last year.
He's only coaching the players he's given.

Some would say OB didn’t choose Watson, that Rick Smith did. So what’s your point?
Also, Kubiak isn’t the offensive coordinator. He helps in order to get his son a job.
Lastly, I find it odd that Kubiak named his kids:
Klint
Klay
Klein.
Not a good look in today’s world. Just saying.
(And that’s a joke for you overly sensitive types)
The Vikings have scored 289 points and Texans 245.
Kubiak is outscoring O'Brien with the players he's given. He hasn't even traded a single future first round pick!
