Mid-Point of the Season Discussion

I thought they would finish with 10-11 wins, so they're where I thought they be. I think with a couple couple of moves they can make the AFCCG. Just like I did when the season started.
I agree 100%. However, with Demeco's press conference today, he seems pleased as punch with our O-Line, so I am beginning to think there will not be any moves made.

This team was overhyped i’m afraid. They are a good team, but we need to put the Super Bowl conversation to rest until we see them play to that level. Right now, they are playing like a one and done playoff team.

Their dance card is basically punched after sweeping the Colts. Now it’s a matter of the core players on this team being healthy at the right time and the team getting hot in January/hopefully February.

Nope. This team is a superbowl contender. Nothing will change my mind.

I predicted they'd win 10 or 11 games this year, which looks like what they'll do. They'll win the division and be one and done in the playoffs, just like last year.

Is it to soon start talking about next year?
Who are you taking in round one or are you proposing a trade down?

Coaching is failing this team now. O-line coach…TE coach. None of the players these 2 coaches coach have any “nasty” to them when it comes to blocking. I’ve seen too many times the o-line and TE’s just not finishing and/or holding blocks well.

Yes there’s been issues along the o-line, but for the most part it’s been localized to 1 guy. But Offensively, Slowik’s playcalling has gotten really stale & teams have caught on. I hope they take this 10 days to really revamp what they’re doing b/c what they’ve been doing thus far this year hasnt really been working. 1st part of the season our offense was sluggish b/c we couldn’t run it b/c Mixon went down. Here lately it’s been sluggish & we can’t pass it b/c Nico went down. Our offense can’t go in the tank every time 1 key guy goes down ..unless that key guy is CJ. and with the way this o-line has been blocking and how Sliwik’s been calling plays, that’s what the hell is gonna happen. It’s on Coaching to get us to being reasonably functional while guys are out & they’ve failed to do that all damn year.

CJ seemingly has taken a step back this year. He’s getting happy feet in the pocket & I understand WHY, but he’s got to slow himself down and stop looking to make the big play downfield all the time. Take what the defense is giving him and be measured in his shots downfield. Slowik needs to help him with the playcalling in this regard & I don’t think he has.
Houston does not draft tight ends who can block but rather receive. I doubt it's fair for us to expect them to actually block; more like just get in the way of the opponent.

My boy Deadpond, always the optimist.
I dunno how badly do you think our guys will beat the Lion ?

Have not seen coach's presser, so I'm surprised he's so pleased with an Oline that gave up 8
sacks in its most recent game ?

Pharaoh Brown was a really good blocker when he first got here. Then he caught a couple of balls, scored a TD and all of a sudden he couldn’t block anymore.

O pharaoh! Let my people go.

O Pharoah! You cannot block so now you got to go!

It's funny how Brown and even Darren Fells came to the Texans with reputations as blockers and the longer they were on the roster, the worst they blocked.

Only BOB's ED offense could make scrub, blocking TEs better receivers but worst blockers.
  • In two years with the Texans, Fells had 11 TDs. In 6 years with 4 different teams, he had 10 TDs.
  • In three years with the Texans, Brown had 60 RECs. In 5 years with 4 different teams, he had 23 RECs.

Should have traded for a Hims.

I think Belichick said the real season doesn’t start till after thanksgiving, and with issues to work out on the OL, and key players to work their way back in following injury, it might never be more true than for the Texans this season, except for the fact they may well be pretty much guaranteed to make the playoffs by Thanksgiving without really showing us who they really are.

This Lions team will be a tough as either way today, and with changes to the OL, a hobbled receiving corps and our best defender out maybe one to look for signs that it’s heading in the right direction whilst hoping to scrape a win. Does CJ look like he trusts his line enough to get his eyes downfield and settle into his throws?

Could beat anyone on any given Sunday if 7 is comfortable enough to pick his throws.
