I read a tweet that Trubisky's ball velocity at the combine was 55 mph. That's about the bare minimum for a successful QB. I'd rather go Romo/ Mahomes.
I would go taco charlton. Cam looks like a OG to me. There are guys that can handle RT in the third, maybe fourth round. And just for shiggles sake if Trubisky were gone and all else the same I'd take Cam Robinson here.

I doubt seriously that Trubisky will fall to #25, but whoever and whenever the Texans take a QB, I sure hope they bring him along slowly and build a really good O-line to protect the investment.
I wouldn't complain about any of them. This draft has some serious talent. At 25 there will be some really hard choices to make. If there were ever a draft to trade down, it's this one!Fair enough. I think Cam can be a monster RT.
If not Cam I'd look Peppers and then Cunningham. Then Taco would be on the menu.
And I'm a Taco fan, just happen to like those guys a bit more so.
I hope whatever magic O'b had at the collegiate level that worked "so well" with McGloin & Hackenberg is realized at the pro level with Godsey out of the picture.
So far O'b has shown the ability to reel in & manage wily vets. He's shown no ability to develop (or even tolerate) young talent at this level.

It was 51.
You must really hate Watson - 45, Kaaya - 48 and Peterman - 49.
Ball velocity numbers (MPH) from the Combine:
60 - Mahomes
59 - Webb
56 - Kizer
55 - Trubisky, Evans
53 - Peterman, Kaaya
49 - Watson
Really? I saw the same info as ung. Dane Brugler's tweet of ...
Our lads machine seems to be off consistently lower than expected. It would seem extremely unlikely that this entire class had only two qbs throw 55 when the year before every year but one shown had at least 6-7 qbs, often well above 55, also on the bottom end as well so many guys going sub 50, comparing the two sets of numbers you should at +4-5 for our lads.

I've been thinking the same thing for a couple years now. It's surprising that O'Brien hasn't drafted a QB early to mold into what O'Brien wants in the position. He seems to have very little patience for developing a young QB and keeps looking for the quick fix with cast off vets. from other teams hoping to strike gold. Kubiak didn't like rookies either, but O'Brien takes it to another level.

Their site is the only one that actually posts the speeds, so where is Brugler and others getting their (different) info? Who actually measures it?
Most likely individual teams with radar guns but just my guess.

And we all know that radar guns vary in accuracy and reliability. Where do you think Ourlads gets their info? Various teams or their own? If their own, why would it be off this year if not in years past?
There's probably a million reasons any one could be off or if they get it second hand, I was just looking at the data sets and they seem to be consistently less than all the other years except 2010. This year's numbers are bigger outliers than those.

Not sure but you can compare their own data sets of previous year's to this one, I'm not saying their numbers are always lower, but this year's numbers as a whole and as a distribution are significant lower than other years, most other years the median seems to be around 55, this year it's 50, that's a dramatic shift, especially considering everyone threw and in previous years a lot of the top guys didn't

It is supposed to be an exceptionally weak QB class

Are we 100% sure on Ramcyzk's medical? I guess not, or he wouldn't be available at #25. If he checks out at the combine re-check, he's likely to go 10 or so picks higher.
April 12, This is what McShay had to say for the Texans (you can see his entire mock draft by clicking here):
Round 1 (25): Ryan Ramczyk, OT, Wisconsin
Round 2 (57): Josh Jones, S, North Carolina State
Round 3 (89): Joshua Dobbs, QB, Tennessee

So we could do worse than this 3-round mock by McShay.
If trubisky is there and we pass on him I'm going to go ape s***.Damn, so McShay has the Texans passing on BOTH Watson AND Trubisky...hmmm.
@PapaL thanks for posting
If the Texans want Peterman they better take him with her second round pick.My pleasure.
Peterman got snatched up by AZ with the 77th pick, leading to us grabbing Dobbs at 89. I don't know that I'd want either of them at that pick.
Thought I'd add the ground rules McShay established for this particular mock....April 12, This is what McShay had to say for the Texans (you can see his entire mock draft by clicking here):

those'll work just fine.Following this draft along with my Texan's GM hat on..
1.25 - Trubisky
2.57 - Moton
3.89 - Leggett
Inexcusable to pass on Trubisky there, and the rest just fall into place.
So do you have his entire mock?Thought I'd add the ground rules McShay established for this particular mock....
The concept for this is simple: I play general manager for every team. This isn't me projecting picks; this is me making them, for three full rounds, based on what's best for each team at that slot.Obviously, your choices/picks may vary
Please read the ground rules:
1. At each slot, I make a pick in the best interest of only the team with the pick. I won't pass on a player at No. 4 just because I like the team better at No. 5.
2. No trades unless they're already done. I try to address team needs, but like in the draft, value can supersede need.
3. Again, I'm not projecting picks. It's more a look at where I see value up and down the board.

McShay only mocked three rounds for each team in this little exercise. PapaL already posted the rest of the teams. So do you have his entire mock?
Really? I've won a Super Bowl and was a stupid Pete Carroll call away from another. He knows what kind of issue we've had at QB the last few years. Why would he take a RT over "the best" QB in the draft?
I understand Ramcyk could develop into a LT, but Josh Dobbs in the third? Third round QBs don't win Super Bowls. They buy you time until you can get a guy like Trubisky. For us, that's Savage's job.
