McShay has Texans Taking Sanchez

If that's what Kubiak wants to do, I'd be fine with that. But I'd be upset, if we drafted a future QB, when we are "making a play-off run" & Maualuga was still on the board.

Once again proving the German's love David Hasselhoff. McShay has no clue, he is simply providing content based on his audience and limited understanding of each team's needs and situation. He is a generalist.

I don't really like McShay or Kiper but it was funny seeing Kiper belittle McShay on Sportscenter a few days ago

We get rid of our BU QB and so the "experts" assume we're going to waste a first round pick getting a replacement.

That's just silly and a lack of research and thought.

Yeah it's so colossally stupid I can't help but shake my head in disbelief. The Texans will extend Schaub soon and McShay thinks they'll use their first round pick on Mark Sanchez? Just for the sake of discussion, let's say the Texans were thinking longer term about the QB situation. I'd rather wait on the 2010 draft to address that need or use a second or third round pick on Rhett Bomar. Sanchez at 15? No thanks. Trade down and pick up another third round selection.

Completely clueless, this little clown would be the first to report how stupid Houston would be for drafting QB with all the defensive needs. Total loser!

I agree whole heartedly w/ your statement "The Pencil Neck" ..I guess McShay had to put him some where, so he flips that boogar on our team. He needs to "flip it" in the second round on a team more in need and where "Sancho" probably ranks out:texflag:

It would seem that McShay has no clue, but on the other hand maybe he knows something the rest of us don't know ? Afterall the guy has gotten some visibility on ESPN in recent years and you'd think he's developed some inside contacts. But the Texans drafting a QB in the first round is certainly not conventional thinking, even though this guy would virtually win us the entire Tex-Mex fan base.
But on the subject of us drafting Rey Rey, I don't think its even a remote possibility as long as the Texans say no way DeMeco would be moved to the
outside.

What it is telling me is the draft gurus have no slot for Sanchez whom they all have over rated in MHO. The last guy that got that tag....was in the green room with his head in his hands until sheriff Rodger came in and rescued him. Brady Quinn.

I'd put Maualuga at SAM, no way I'd move Demeco.

In two of the last three drafts, the Texans surprised us. I think taking a QB would be just as surprising this time around.

I don't want anyone thinking I'm not supportive of Matt Schaub, but in our last few games, along with his "very good" play, he did some bone-headed things. Intentional grounding, one of which was almost picked off....

I seriously doubt any of his offenses were big enough for the Front office to start making plans to replace him(which a first round QB is).. but you never know.

If they think Schaub can't last a season, who knows?

Sanchez has a far-better upside from a raw talent aspect and he is more of a Kubiak QB that Schaub

Seems like a weird pick but who had us taking Duane Brown last year?

You really are hot on this Sanchez thing, aren't you?

I like Mark Sanchez. Physically, I think there's better quarterbacks, but he knows and loves the game. He reportedly blew away guys at the combine and I heard one interview where a coach claimed Sanchez knew just as much if not more about football than him.

I don't like Tod McShay. I don't think he or Kiper are better than Mike Mayock, who does a better job of breaking down film instead of saying "I like the guy."

USC fan, can't help it

I'd rather see Rey Rey or Maclin with the pick personally, but I won't write anything off

Outside of defensive players from USC in the Carroll era, what offensive skill position players should I be excited about that play in the NFL? They just do not scale. Sanchez is dirty in my opinion.

Outside of Carson Palmer Can't really say any offensive skill players have set the NFL on fire. It's a sad day when you have to put Lendale White as perhaps the next most productive guy. Not a big Sanchez fan but I think a few the teams behind us might think of him enough to select him in the first. Jets, Lions, or Bucs.

This is BS and just a terrible prediction. We traded Sage because the team's management and coaches have confidence in Schaub as the starter. With the number of needs this team as, there is a 0% chance that we take Sanchez.

I hope he falls to us so we can trade down in the draft and take a great player at a cheaper price. Malauga would be great his slopped-up 40 time messed his stock up a few picks.

And there has been some talk that Mangini is not too high on Quinn.

Texans need another QB.

Do it Smith. :fishing:

:coffee:...:stirpot:.:D

McShay is an *****, yeah we are gonna take a QB with our first pick. With all the needs we have on defense that are more pressing and important in order for us to make a push for the playoffs. I personally dont like many offensive players from USC outside of Palmer not many have been productive, lately, in the NFL. I think we need to go S or OLB with 2 of our picks on the first day. I am not specifying 1st, 2nd or 3rd. If Maualuga is available I would be upset if we pass on him, love his nastiness.

McShay is the director of college football scouting for Scouts Inc., which is owned by ESPN.

The ONLY reason McShay is on TV is because ESPN is trying to help Scout compete with Rivals.

He has no thoughts of his own when it comes to the draft because he only spits out what he thinks his audience wants to hear. If there could ever be one thing I like about Kiper it's that he says what he really thinks and doesn't care what anyone thinks about it.
