McNair to retire?

I read this is an artcle of NFL. Maybe McNair figured out today that he's done with the NFL. GO TEXANS!!!!!

The 10-year veteran was so frustrated after the game that he suggested this season could be his last.

"In the offseason I'm going to take a long look at what I'm going to do," said the 33-year-old McNair. "I just have to evaluate myself."

Yep, and oh Steve, don't let the back door hit you on the way out.

I would be sad to see him go, great competitor. Who knows, His body gets beat up year after year and he keeps on going,

steve mcnair might be one of the nfl's best players ever...not QB but player...he plays injured he plays hurt he leads his team to victory when no one else can...i for one will be glad to see him retire so we don't have to play him anymore...but i will be sad for the rest of the nfl to see him go because we will be losing one of the best players the league has ever seen in air mcnair

Good lord the man has one slightly below average gm and people start yelling time to retire, give em a break. He'll be back next year unless his body falls apart or somthing lol, look at Brett Farve, the mans like 100 yrs old and still whooping butt, look what he did to us last week (Made me wanna cry). Steve McNair has plenty of time left.

That article is Boo Boo.

First let me start by saying congrats on the win....it was a great second half.
But as far as your team being the reason that Mac may retire ...thats nonsense.....I would guess thats it because of the injuries he has received over the years and he is starting to heal slower now that he is older....I think he also knows that the Titans are about to go into a rebuild process and with Mac being the competitor he is...he will not just hang around for the money like alot of NFL QBs do and a rebuilding process does not involve a QB that is in his mid 30s....I don't believe he will retire this year...but I do expect the Titans to try and get a QB for the future this draft and I think Mac will play for 1 or 2 more years and then retire...but like I said above ...great win for your team....5 wins....2 of them against a 4-7 titans team and all 5 against teams with a 16-27 record...I see why you are so pumped and talking trash...my apologies if this offends the classy texans fans which is 99% of you...but to the trash talkers...keep talking and enjoy yet another non-playoff season.

Umm, not sure which article you read, but the one I posted, the only person talking about Steve McNair retiering is Steve McNair.

I did not read about anyone yelling at him to retire. Did I miss something here?

Umm, AndreJ I don't mean to nitpick or anything but I'm pretty sure Brett's pushing 107 years old actually.

I love how losing to the Texans is such a crippling embarrassment to other teams. I don't think people realize how disrespectful that is to their opponents.

I think you are absolutely right. I think he was just talking, but if he really is thinking about it.. We'll give ya Tony Banks :jumpbanan seriously, I wonder if a drew brees would be mentioned

yeah, im confused about how to care about this. i think steves doing the smart thing, you need your body for the rest of your life. earl campbell gave everything he had to the game of football, and now he has trouble walking. it sucked to see how injured steve got all the time. but he made his money, got one yard short, now its time to move on. even though i hated it at the time, im kinda glad he shared an MVP with manning, because this was a great athlete and his name needs to be in the books

I'd hate to see him go because I like the guy and his attitude towards playing. He's one of the really tough guys but I'd certainly understand if he were to quit. I'm sure he has a family to consider and his injuries have been somewhat severe these last few years.

McNair actually put more points on the board against the Texans than Favre did.

I can understand why McNair would be considering retirement. Every hit he takes seems to aggravate a chronic injury from his years of playing QB/FB. McNair wasn't able to recover after the tackle by Wong late in the 4th. And it wasn't really a big hit. If he does retire, he'll be missed by NFL fans who respect players who respect the game.

I'd hate to see him do it if it does come down to that. It has been a frustrating year for the Titans - though I'm glad we swept them this year :heh: . Lost some key players, and plagued w/ injuries. But ah well, we'll see at the end of the season.

Well we have a couple more weeks before we find out if we are staying home for the playoffs. But hey, if we find out that we aren't going we will be sure to invite you guys over for some BBQ during the playoffs since YALL WON'T BE BUSY AROUND THAT TIME EITHER. :jumpbanan :whoohoo:

Mcnair is a class act and a great QB if you guys where true football fans you would show a little more respect.. I for one will miss the rivalry between Peyton and Mcnair it was just getting started

I was about to contribute this same sentiment to this thread when I read Youngstown Colt's post. Steve should retire, his body will already pay the price when he get's older. There are many old NFL guys up in their 50's and 60's and up that are paying the price for playing too long. Earl Campbell is a prime example.
