McCree

hot pickle

Canada Eh
I haven't watched to many texans games, because i live in canada and the only one that i watched this year was the one against green bay, but i was wondering if McCree was starting material, or is he just a back up?

McCree is an NFL player. I see him along the lines of Foreman and Brown. Solid NFL reserves but not ideal starters.

I have been a big Mcree supporter.. supposedly he only got cut from Jax because he didnt fit with the coaching changes they made. It wasnt a lack of ability.

However.. seeing him play this season, I think Vinny is right.. he is a solid backup but Coleman is the better FS.

Maybe Mcree will be better once we have a more dominant pass rush and he has time to really become comfortable with our system? i dunno.. but I actually thought that, given the choice.. id prefer Simmons over Mcree. Simmons seemed to do just as good as Mcree in coverage.. but is an absolute beast when it comes to laying some wood. he had those HUGE hits against that raider lineman, and Chris Brown from Tennessee.

simmons also plays a little SS as well. after earl began to start, in passing situations, he would come in. but when simmons got the concusion - i believe mcree replaced earl on passing situations at that position. either way i am happy with both.

I like his play. He has great instincts, and has a nose for the ball. I think he could be a starter for alot of teams.

McCree was a starter but he got caught up in a three way swap of coaching preferences. We let Travares Tillman go to Carolina, Carolina let Deke Cooper go to Jacksonville and Jacksonville let McCree go to Houston--not necessarily in that order, but in effect it was a three way swap.

wasnt it mcree that had that big return for a td against the titans 2 seasons ago, and we still lost, it was a heart breaker :(.

Yup, picked off McNair on the south home-team 5 yd line and ran it all the way back.

yeah i thought so, well personally i think the guy can play. When he plays he seems to always be in the right spot at the right time "wherever the ball is", and just seems to me like a play maker.

McCree was definitely an improvement over Stephens in the 2003 season, but with Coleman moving over to free safety this year McCree finds himself relegated to a backup spot. Coleman is a better free safety and Earl is a better strong safety so McCree's future with the Texans is as a backup.

:howdy: Thats not fair because the racoon would be better against the run but you can throw over the top on him.The racoon also has hands smaller than Ricky Williams.
