Maybe we should have gotten Ken Whisenhunt

Nighthawk

Rookie
Taking a look at the Steelers offense today it's hard to imagine anyone beating them, let alone the pansy-butt Denver Broncos. I'm thinking we reopen the coach hunt and see if the Pittsburg OC Ken Whisenhunt will interview with us (as well as the Raiders and others).

if we hired him we'd be guaranteed at least one trick play per game

He doesn't refer to them as trick plays. Their gadget plays. Just playing man. The commentators had a little talk about that earlier. Whisenhunt refers to "trick plays" as "gadget plays."

No thanks I'm happy with Kubes. The Steelers defense is the reason why the steelers are dominating this game. Denver can't keep the ball. They shut down the colts last week this week its the broncos.

yeah i heard that too

Maybe we should just be patient instead of quick change of heart after one game.... and not just this game in particular.

You are asking too much of many of the fans on this message board. :brickwall

I read somewhere that Billy C is is 6-1 versus the Colts .. and I thought the Patriots were there nemesis

This is for those who like to use the "just one game" defense of something (why we should not draft Vince Young, or, in this case, why Whisenhunt is worth a look over Kubiak):

the one game is the game that counts, it shows the best that that (coach, offense, defense, QB, whatever) can do at that particular time. It's clear, looking at the Pittsburg v Denver game, that the Denver scheme is not going to win any championships. The team was out-coached, out-schemed, out-played, and clueless throughout.

And we're excited to be getting their offensive coordinator? Please.

It has already won two. :brickwall

Yeah...maybe he will bring cowher and the pittsburgh defense with him. Oh and maybe he can bring Heinz Ward and Big Ben and Randel El and the best Offensive line. Maybe that had just a little to do with the victory today. [/sarcasm]

The Broncos were not out coached. They were out played today.

...and Jake Plummer having to make plays showed up. Outplayed is right.

The what does that say about Norv Turner and Dave Wandstedt... they got some superbowl rings with Jimmy, yet never got them on their own..

Before I make judgement, I want to see the whole staff and what they can do with the talent we have.

Can we go ahead and be on hold for the OC of whatever team wins the superbowl? Apparently, all other OC's lost at some point in 2005 and must suck.

Nighthawk, may have taken the counter-point to the extreme, but I feel we're improving off what we had with Kubiak and new coordinators coming here. Just like other things, when something is given too much time to overanalyze the situation, trying to find the sure thing, one may just find options are limited by the time a decision is made.... and even then - hard to say it's the sure thing.

Pitt just had a heck of a run in the playoffs to make it to Detroit - don't want to hold out too long on a possibility an OC will interview and miss out on other opportunities.

What happens if we do tell Kubiak, "hold on.. we want to talk with Wisenhunt after the super bowl."

Good lord people. We cant change our choices whenever the wind blows. Kubiak will do just fine. And Whisenhunt has alot of good tools to use on offense. Ben Roe, Heins Ward, Antwan Randle El, Jerome Bettis, Marvel Smith, Alen Faneca, Kendall Simmons, and Heah Miller.

I feel Denver has less to work with on offense. Ashley Lelie, is your #2, and Jake Plummer, I have never thought was a good QB.

It's already been reported that McNair is holding a pc in an hour. I'm sure it is to make the announcement, or to open up talks again because nighthawk said so.

Kubiak is just fine for now. You can't just jump on bandwagons all day and go with whoever has the hot hand. Plus, our personnel is almost nothing like Pittsburg's.

You people kill me.

First it is Broncos please lose, so we can get Kubiack in here. Then it is Kubiack lost so we need someone better. Please pick some side and stick with it.

That was in another way back when, in another time. Now you gotta be able to play with POWER and FINESSE and be able to beat POWER and FINESSE. Denver can't and won't. It's a conceptual failure.

You got that right. We are nothing like a winner.

When the QB makes the throws that Plummer made today and you blame the scheme? :brickwall

Before I bother to answer you, go tell me what years the Broncos won the Superbowl and who were the Head coaches and OC.

Good Lord.

Well, at least it's a new approach. Now we're going to condemn them before they even sign on the dotted line. I guess it's never too early to start making excuses.

The defense gave up 34 points, fire the OC now!!!

I'm still realing from the McNair has no class comment, now this? Forgive me, and I'm not trying to pick, you do realize he has three superbowl rings?

I was wondering what has happened to Ibargaffney. Now I know, changed their name to Nighhawk.

Thats pretty funny if you have been reading these messages boards for the last few years, well funny to me.:)

Al Davis anounces that Kubiak is the Raiders next head coach.

Kubiak would never coach the Raiders after Al fired Shanahan. Fittingly enough Shanahan won three SuperBowls since then while the Raiders technically been to one. They kind of forgot to show up, though.

I've posted it here before that some of the greatest pro players in the recent years played average to sub-par games in their last college outing. One game, no matter how big the stakes does not make a career.

Then please...LEAVE!!!!!!!!!!

You are nothing more then a VY homer, and anything that dosn't fit you narrow scope of reality you bash as wrong, stupid and ignorant.

I mean you seem to be here alot of the time, which most be hard because who have so many other things to do with your day as an NFL GM, right? You seem to think that only your views are right and that you know more then anybody here or anybody else in the Texnas orgainization, so you have to be somebody with vast amounts of NFL head office expierence, right?

:brickwall :brickwall :brickwall :brickwall

Why don't we wait and hire the OC of the team that wins the SuperBowl, because by your logic he would be the best canidate for the job.

it was that O-coordinator and that scheme that won two super bowls.

Well, maybe he's a real good butler.

If you believe that Kubiak is the OC of the Broncos in the sense that he runs the offense (and I know what Shanahan said), I have a friend who has a bridge for you. Shanahan is the kind of coach that runs the whole offensive show from the ground up. He designed it, implemented it, calls it week in and week out, no matter what is said publicly. Kubiak is like an assistant out there. No doubt he's part of the team, but I would not go crediting him with the invention of electricity.

That said, he may be a fine head coach here. He can't help but be an improvement over what we've had.
