Matt Elam working in a shoe store

Hall of Fame
Matt Elam, the 32nd overall pick in the 2013 NFL Draft to Baltimore, is using his offseason time wisely. After leaving Florida early to enter the draft, he is back in school right now trying to finish up his degree. Meanwhile, he's working part time at a local shoe store. Why? Because he wants to open his own sports merchandise store when football is over and wants some first hand knowledge of how things work.

Very proactive approach for a young person and it's nice to see a young athlete looking ahead in life instead of spending his time wasting his fortune. Seems like a smart kid.

Good for him

This guy gets it. Talk about a guy you want to cheer for.

OMG! Are you serious? This is appalling and he should be fired. Taking that job from some poor, zit riddled teenager just so he can "gain experience in retail"

Un-believable....:kitten:

Thought I would get the idiot post out of the way....

Ya'll are absolutely right, he gets it. His skill in football has established his finances to one day open his store....

if only VY could have thought that far ahead instead of attending shirtless sausage fests...

Can't remember who it was, but there was a Jet that worked at a Jimmy John's last offseason.

It happens.
