Marcus Williams, CB, North Dakota St

I can't believe that I am now watching my 4th North Dakota State game this year.

Marcus Williams CB & Billy Turner OT both All Americans

Marcus Williams, CB, #1, 5'11", 197
3 Time All American, 20+ INTs is now playing on ESPN vs Coastal Carolina

Williams is my sleeper, darkhorse, part of my mock, currently projected as 5-7 rd draft pick.

Do you think his speed is gonna be a problem with regards to playing CB in the NFL?

I'm not saying he's unusable slow, but a 4.6 for a corner is definitely bottom tier of speed, almost to the point where they are basically a zone type defender.

Or are you thinking of him as a free safety type?

Combine is key for Marcus. Some folks say the Combine doesn't matter or is not really relevant. In this case if Williams can run a sub 4.5 he gets drafted. If he runs a 4.6 he becomes a UDFA. The Combine is really crucial for this guy. It validates his 3X All American and 20+ INTS because he's a small school product. FS is a strong possibility for Williams.

I think I actually like another Bison, Billy Turner OT just as much as Williams. Again the Combine is key for him. I am concerned if he is strong enough. If he can produce 25+ 225 lb reps and satisfactory Broad Jump and vertical I am all in for Billy.

Good stuff, thanks. Let's hope he can bring that speed down.
