Stroud signs extension
4/14/05
Marcus Stroud, the Jacksonville Jaguars' two-time Pro-Bowl defensive tackle, has signed a contract extension with the team. Stroud, 26, is entering his fifth NFL season and has started 48 consecutive games. In 2004, he ranked seventh on the team with 80 tackles and registered 4.5 sacks. He has emerged as one of the NFL's top defensive linemen after being named a starter for the AFC in his two Pro-Bowl appearances.
I'm excited and thrilled to have this process behind me so I can concentrate on football and get ready for this new season, Stroud said. This is a great organization and I'm glad I'm going to be a part of it for many years to come.
Stroud was originally drafted in the first round (13th overall) of the 2001 draft.
