Spades is a card game where all of the spades are trump cards. You bid accroding to how you think the suits are split. If you have no hearts, diamonds, clubs or are weak in those other suits other than the spades...that means you can trump the rounds early and capture the most tricks. Tricks = thirteen. 52/4. So "in spades" means you've got and outstanding chance. You've got all the trumps and can controll the game. David Harris can play Mike with a superior run stuffer in front of him. The only question with Harris is can he play it with our core DT's in front of him ? With Harris in the middle it will allow the club to experiment with Demeco at the Will. My gamble is that yes he can do it without an elite DT infront of him. See what he runs at the combine. They get another two playmakers on D...they'll be close to a forty-six defense in tallent. Not saing they will do that...but they could if they wanted. Payton hates pressure up the middle.
Ah, ok thanks. I am really liking what I saw out of David Harris this year. Him and Tony Taylor from Georgia are my LB sleepers and I am hoping that we pick one up. If we get Harris it most likely means that we will be switching Meco to WLB like you were saying. I think that Harris benifited from a great D-line in Michigan but I do not think that is why he played the way he did. He seems to always be around the play.
My other guy, Tony Taylor, would play WLB for us so we could keep DeMeco at the MLB spot. I am more in favor of this because a) DeMeco stays at his record breaking spot b) Tony Taylor seems to be a great WLB and everybody plays their existing positions. Tony Taylor had 7 INTs last season at WLB for Georgia. He could be a real threat for us when DeMeco is blitzing. The best thing to have behind a blitz is someone ready to act on the quarterbacks mistake.
Both of these guys, in my mind, would help out our defense tremendously and as it looks we can get either one after the 3rd round. Unless David Harris runs much faster than anticipated I doubt he gets drafted higher than the 3rd maybe 4th round. Same goes for Tony Taylor. They both need great combines to move up in the draft, and if they dont, they will be sitting there late on day 1 waiting to be stolen.
