Lots of talent at cornerback in this draft

Not alot at the top because there's no true shutdown corner in this draft imo. But there's alot of guys that'll be available late first day/early second that could maybe step in and compete with Faggins to be our # 2 CB opposite Dunta and with some experience and coaching could make a formidable tandem in our defensive backfield with Mr. Robinson

Hall, Revis, and Houston will probably all go 1st rd imo.

if we're looking at 2nd and on....

Aaron ross could fall to us in the 2nd...maybe not.
Daymeion Hughes should be there
Marcus McCauley should be there too.

I think those would be the top 3 CB's we could get with our 2nd round pick...

With the ?? pick in the 2007 NFL Draft, the Houston Texans select

Michael Coe from Alabama State University (4th round)

IMO, he could prove to be better than a lot of CBs that are rated higher than him by so-called "experts".

If they pick Landry in the 1st rd., I could see them waiting until the 4th, 5th, or even 6th round to pick a CB. Coe might be there in the 4th, and Bain could be there in the 5th. Either one would probably be a good pick up for us.

What I hope will happen is that the Texans can do some trading, either trading down from the #8 spot or trading a player (like Carr or maybe Orr) and pick up some extra picks. Possibly another 3rd or 4th rounder. This gives them more options to fill all the holes they have. JMHO!

finding a team that wants to give up extra picks is sometimes tough.

With the hole we have right now at WR, I say WR in the 2nd. I know the position is deep, but deep in raw talent is different from an impact rookie that can start right away. Irons from Auburn in the 3rd is my prediction for CB.

Loking at current situation of TEXANS, we need DB, #2WR and QB.

1. Landry
2.CB or WR(BPA)
3.QB perhaps Kolb? (Drew Stanton should be gone by 2nd)

Before sigining of Black(filling the needs), I was shifting to draft C or OT in the 2nd. But now, I think drafting the above three rounds should make us better faster.(If Kalil is still available in the 2nd rd, should grab him other than that should go with CB or WR).

I think CB and WR positions are pretty deep and should be able to draft someone really good in the 2nd rd.

I wonder what we can get from Carr trade(3rd, 4th?)

The above is how TEXANS should draft IMO. But, other side of me telling me to draft DE in the 2nd rd. to put pressure on opponents' QB next season.

GO TEXANS!

I think Chris Houston is the best CB in this draft. He is the most athletic and the best cover corner in this draft. A little raw at technique, but thats what coaches are for. If he were to somehow slip, we could find gold in the second round. Hughes and Ross could have great value as well in the 2nd round.

I would say trade back with Buffalo and and choose CB Revis, pick up maybe another 3rd round pick. with that 3rd round pick go safety wendling or weddle. I would also trade back to the mid 2nd round as well for maybe another 4th roounder and Kolb. In the 4th go BPA towards WR and DT. I know it is kind of off the total subject, but I did want to hit up on the issue of the CB position.

Or what if we traded down with buffalo...

1. Ted Ginn Jr. or Robert Meachem WR(both fast Ginn dbls as returnman)
2. Aaron Ross...CB
3. Brandon Mebane DT
3. Kevin Kolb QB
4. Michael Johnson FS
5. Mario Henderson OT

Well that addresses most of the areas we need help in.

With Dunta and Ross being our CB's...it will lighten the load for Johnson FS and Earl.
Henderson could be a good pick up at T for depth and potential starter someday..depending on how our o-line shakes out...can never have too many.
Kolb of course should be groomed by Kubiak and Shanahan for 2 years.
Mebane is a big boy that should get some push and could easily challenge johnsons and maddox for starting dt.

This will be the only mock you see me include Ginn. but if we trade down..having him and andre could be a scary combo. I'm not impressed with his route running...but he could help andre out a lot and make the other teams safeties not play so close to our line...which would help our rungame.

Leon Hall is a top 10 caliber pick. I'm getting nervous his stock may be rising & Texans may be the ones who's switched on :lightbulb:

I pretty much agree, DE seems more important than DT. DT has Maddox and TJ plus the street free agents brought in last year, Killings, ThomJ, as well as Malone and whoever the vet that Smitty finally signs. Weaver and Mario are basically both Strongside Ends, only Babin is a true pass rush end.

OT seems set with the two sophmores, Black and EphSal. It seems RB makes more sense. Even if Dayne does resign after the edlery pair neither Lundy, Gado, or Taylor are really cabale backups.

that's kinda what i was thinking..I almost put Ikaika Alama-Francis DE from Hawaii...he has huge potential but is raw and needs to be taught a lot.

EDIT: Hows Jon Cornish from kansas in the 5th round for RB.

!

If your looking for NEED positions, QB is not a big need, we have a couple of games who could do a manageable job.

our NEEDS are at FS, CB, SLB, DT, LT, WR.

Well that is my take anyway.

Good that it is a deep CB year because we really need one.
