Lets talk about what didn't happen?

Did Mathis or Armstrong catch a ball? Again the focus in practice has been certainly on Armstrong and Mathis did get to play on special teams today. He did reasonably well, but until we get a different mix on the field I don't think we will see much change. We talk about the things we are going to do or that we do in practice, but they seem never to materialize on the field of play. Why? Are we so predictable? Is it a cake walk to defend our receivers? I'm sorry, but while it was a much better performance there's still something terribly wrong. I will continue to say we have the players, but the ineptness of this coaching staff is beyond belief. Unfortunately, they will not(probably can't) get rid of the problems. Without changing all of the coaches you are not going to know what the problem is. Is it the players or the coaches? Well, enough players have gone on to other teams and have succeeded that I'm really questioning the coaching staff. That of course has been my mantra for a long time, but I still think I have been more right than wrong. At least it was a winnable game, but we almost never adjust in the 2nd half. It would be nice to come out with a different look in the 2nd half. Make the other team think a little bit. But that's not the mentality of the grind it out coach we have. Well, I guess its time to go on to the next game............

Did you watch the game Ibar? I know it wasn't on the tube out in Fresno.

There are other outlets Vinny, but the question was did either one of those two players catch a ball? I haven't liked anything about this coaching staff for a long time and I believe I have been more correct about that than you. If you sit down and look at the game after its over, you really have a hard time finding something that is truely different. Certainly the outcome didn't change. Certainly the number of points scored in the 2nd half didn't change. When you get down to cruch time the play calling a big zero. Remember, despite what you think Carr has almost zero to do with the play during the course of the game. He has always been given a very, very limited set of options to choose from. These coaches are a bunch of control freaks and Carr is a product of that system. Your 0-3 and it really doesn't look good for the rest of the season.

I'll take that as a "no".

I wouldn't, but that's your choice. What have you been watching for 4 years now. I would hope that you might just be a little upset with the coaching staff, but then again you must like loosing all the time.

Based on his response he must not of watched the game.

Playcalling was fine.
Coaching was fine.
Players looked motivated.
Running calls actually worked.
Carr looked pretty good, no major mistakes and spread the ball around.

Like last year...Penalties, poor pass protection, poor pass rush were our problems today. In the first half Carr recorded a few sacks but he did look fairly well protected, he didn't get as much protection towards the end of the game. Add to this one of the worst calls I have ever seen in sports.

I think this off season we need to rebuild both our O-line and D-line from scratch.

I did get to see the game.....thank you NFL Sunday Ticket.

Ibar, your dribble was stale to begin with. I mean, you just droned on and on and on about the 'coaches and the play calling' without ever providing any examples or specifics about the latest game to back up your opinions. I mean, I always thought, that with all your ranting and raving, you'd al least have common sense to actually watch the games in order to get the proper prospective, and see with your own eyes, the actual play of the players, and the reaction of the coaches to that play.

Instead, you sit out there in Carr's home town, look at score on the Internet, and just blindly assume that it's got to be the coaches for whatever, and your boy Carr walks on water.

You are one weird puppy.

You apparently don't read everything Vinny says. He calls it as he sees it and is very knowledgable as a Texan fan.

Actually he has appologized to me on occasion in private mails. But I asked what I think is an important question which is a really an important point. Go back, if you would like and look at the play by play in the 1st quarter. It refreshes you memory once in a while. We have them on the 10 and they spend the next 8 minutes walking down the field. It ends in a field goal for them. This pattern I believe has been repeated in the last three games. That is we defensively we never stop any one on the 1st series of playes and the other team starts dominating us. Their offense gets warmed up and ours doesn't. When you pin some one on their 10 you are looking to get the possession back. We seem to quite commonly have bad field position. I look at the game very differently than you. If you really go back and look we are being outcoached big time, and the worst part of it is, our coaches don't understand it. Right now the Texans are almost a guarranted win. A team can bring their worst game and beat us. You may not like it, but we are the laughing stock of the league.

I have told you are welcome here and I think you are a civil gentleman. I'm a pretty nice guy like that...I've given many people that same kind of PM. I do think you do not base your opinions on what you see...just what you surmise from recaps. I find you decent...but not credible.

The feeling I get is that our defense was better in 2002 than it is now. I do feel the defensive side of the ball has regressed.

Offensively.. lack of OL has hurt Carr's progression

:texflag: We were out played by... I bet a team thats younger . Thats disgusting .

I'm watching the Cowboys and Wares making plays , Cantys making plays these guys are rookies .

Yes, Vinny I'm generally a polite person and not vulger. However, we have disagreed on some issues for a long time. But sometimes we all miss the trees for the forest. I think many of you are making some very bad misjudgements of the ability of this coaching staff. There are a lot of people out there who seem to understand that. Go back and really look at the patterns of the games we play and they are so much a like its beyound belief. And Yes to those that have said, we may have had a better defense in 2002. This ball club is suffering as much from its lack of defense as it is its offense. A team that is always under pressure offensively is always going to have problems. Defensive success will bread offensive success for this ball club. We have to stop letting the other teams dominate us in the 1st qtr.

:texflag: Ibar 's point is even more evident when you look at the Defense . This is Capers specialty yet we have no take aways . We should blitz like it was nobodys business with corners like we're supposed to have ... but we don't . I can't help but think this staff want set a tempo of taking it to them . Instead lets stay back on our heels .

hey, we aren't very good and are proving it by the week. I'm ready to clean house myself. Our entire team is dysfunctional if you ask me. From Casserly to Fangio.

Vinny I can relate to this, but I really wonder how much of this is the players vs the coaching. I will say look at AJ. Yes, he made the probowl, but is really anyone afraid of him. I will say look at DD, but is really anyone afraid of him. Is anyone really afraid of our defense. Seems like every team's offense we play looks like super bowl contenders. Again, I know its a mantra, but there is something terribly wrong. I know some have feelings about Casserly, but I really think the man's hands are tied. I think Casserly chose Carr and AJ for obvious reasons. The defensive picks this year and last year were Capers' an Fangios'. I've said for a long time when Casserly has picked someone who doesn't fit in Capers mold the players in for a bad time. DD is a good example of that. He's a good all around back and would have been a great player with a team like the Montana led 49ers where the pass set up the running game. But that's not what Capers wants. DD doesn't fit the dominating running game that Capers wants to utilize. I keep saying Capers can not adjust to what he has and wants to be what he is not. In the process the ball club and the players are being ruined. Even Carr is in the same mold. Volick who preceeded Carr ran the Veer Offense. Volick is a better play faker than Carr and is really better suited for what Capers wants. Management wanted Carr for obvious reasons, but has never put the personnel around him to make him successful. Look at it closely and I hope you will begin to see the picture. Its really unforunate for all of us to watch this. Its not really good football, and needless to say, its not even exciting.

Yeah we wanted Ware on our team too. But since the Cowboys did worse than us last year they got to pick before us.

Our rookies are making plays too.
Mathis two kickoff returns almost to the 40 yard line. He looked great!! If he stays healthy he will break a big one for us and he will give us good field postion that will translate to points.

Did you see the hit CC Brown put on Chad Johnson. Chad was very slow getting up and you could see he was quite shaken by taking a hit that hard. I like CC Brown, the kid is doing great.

If this happened I would not be very dissappointed.

I agree that this team needs an overhaul, from Casserly on down.

But Ibar, that's not the point. I don't see how YOU can draw reasonable conclusions when you don't watch the games. It's like a jury rendering a verdict in a trial by reading the court transcript unstead of actually attending it.

Case in point. If i were to ask you about the last play of the game, I couldn't . . . . because you didn't see it.

The play calling was a "C".
I don't understand, the first series we had the ball, Carr did two roll outs and hit the reciever downfied for good yardage. I didn't see us run another roll out after the first quarter.

Now the defense, I too, didn't see us doing any blitzing. i didn't see linebackers nor Def backs blitzing. Palmer had all day most of the game to find TJ open. we did shut down CJ, but TJ ate our lunch!
